If you’re downplaying the humanoid robot economy, you’re making the same mistake some people made about the internet in 1993. The infrastructure is being built right before your eyes.

I am excited to announce Mind Robotics’ $500M financing, co-led by @Accel and @a16z!  Mind is focused on building the world’s leading industrial robotics platform, capable of performing dexterous, variable, and reasoning-intensive tasks. Existing industrial robotics can perform repeatable, dimensionally stable tasks, but a large share of industrial value-add work requires human-like dexterity, adaptation, and physical reasoning that classical robotics cannot address.  We are building AI-powered robots—models, hardware, and deployment infrastructure—that will perform real tasks, in real plants, at real scale.

Silicon Valley's latest humanoid is exceptionally strong and it's already doing real factory work. That's according to Noble Machines, a Sunnyvale-based startup launched in 2024 by former engineers from Apple, SpaceX, NASA, and Caltech. The startup says it's already shipped its first general purpose robot workers to an unnamed Fortune Global 500 customer. The headless humanoid robot can reportedly learn new industrial tasks in just a few hours by watching demonstrations or through natural language instructions. Standing 170 cm (5 feet 7 inches), it boasts a reported 34 degrees of freedom (DoF). The robot can lift and carry up to 27 kg (60 lbs), which makes it one of today's strongest robots on two legs. Despite its strength, Noble Machines, formerly known as Under Control Robotics (UCR), says its humanoid consumes an average of just 200 watts per hour, which is about the same amount of energy required for a household television. It can operate for five to six hours per shift, powered by a single NVIDIA Jetson Orin edge computer. Noble has not yet publicly disclosed pricing.

I resigned from OpenAI. I care deeply about the Robotics team and the work we built together. This wasn’t an easy call. AI has an important role in national security. But surveillance of Americans without judicial oversight and lethal autonomy without human authorization are lines that deserved more deliberation than they got. This was about principle, not people. I have deep respect for Sam and the team, and I’m proud of what we built together.

What used to take weeks can now be completed in hours on a single-node DGX-H100. We’re pushing the limits of what’s possible in high-accuracy chemistry simulations, scaling from CAS(30,30) to CAS(113,76) and opening the door to: ✅ Faster iteration cycles ✅ Bigger, more complex active spaces ✅ Higher accuracy for real-world systems ✅ A clear path to multi-node and exascale readiness This is Breakthrough Speed for Real-World Chemistry, and it’s changing how quickly discovery can move from theory to impact. 🔗 Explore the full infographic: go.sandboxaq.com/InfographicHig… #Chemistry #Simulation

From bottlenecks to breakthroughs in real-world chemistry ⚡️🧪 For years, high-accuracy chemistry simulations have been constrained by the same challenges: 🔸 Active spaces limited by hardware 🔸 Runtimes stretching from days to weeks 🔸 Manual tuning required just to converge Now, we’re changing that. With high-performance CAS simulation capabilities, teams can: ✅ Automate discovery across catalysis, metalloenzymes, and materials ✅ Run large CAS simulations in hours ✅ Systematically explore active spaces for higher accuracy ✅ Stay future-proof with multinode + AI-accelerator readiness Teams can now run the kinds of simulations that were previously impractical to even attempt. 🔗 Explore the full infographic: go.sandboxaq.com/InfographicHig… #Chemistry #AI

The Helix team at Figure spent the last 12 months hitting wall after wall on what seemed like a simple problem: How do we give our AI model, Helix, control of the entire humanoid body (pixels in; motor torques out)? Core to our belief is shipping fully autonomous robots that can operate continuously at human speeds It was quite hard and painful, but now we have a neural network based stack we really want to scale This is a new chapter for us - it will unlock long horizon, whole-body tasks. It feels close; I really hope 2026 is the year
Corey Lynch@coreylynch

For the past year, my team has been searching for a single model capable of whole-body autonomy in real homes. Last week we had a breakthrough. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘅 𝟬𝟮 🧬 (1x speed, no teleop)

This is huge news US gov plans to "accelerate" US robotics development. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said he’s “all in” on accelerating the sector’s development. Even without this initiative, robots would be ready (to work for/with us) by the end of 2026, but with the US government’s massive resources, we’ll see even bigger acceleration. I expect some big orders from the US military for humanoid robots. This will accelerate their development and mass manufacturing.

Google's DeepMind is accelerating its ambition to create a "robot Android." They've just hired Aaron Saunders, former CTO of Boston Dynamics, who led hardware engineering for Atlas and Spot. DeepMind hopes Gemini will become a "universal brain," readily usable by all robots:humanoid, quadrupedal, and wheeler, just as Android unified the mobile phone ecosystem. Google has already released Gemini Robotics 1.5 (VLA) and tested it on the Apptronik Apollo application testing platform. If Gemini truly achieves plug-and-play functionality, building an intelligent robot could be as simple as building an Android phone. This also means that the robotics industry's growth rate in the coming years may exceed our expectations.
