Just finished watching Louis Theroux’s new documentary on the Manosphere. What jumps out is just how insecure the bro-influencers he interviews are. For all their bravado, they spend the entire time worrying about how to answer even the most basic of questions, and getting flustered when they doubt whether their answers will make them appear emasculated. It’s also striking how uninteresting and one-note their lives seem to be. Beyond gym, cars, crypto and girls, these men have no meaning to their lives. Even their way their rental apartments all look the same, glossy but empty, speaks volumes. Another outstanding piece of documentary making from LT.

Louis Theroux: Inside The Manosphere premieres March 11. In his first Netflix feature-length documentary, Louis travels to Miami, New York, and Marbella to meet a network of influencers and content creators at the heart of the Manosphere.

Not at all mysterious. As a user of software, I just want it to work. As a reader of “writing”, like with any art form, I want it to be created by someone I can relate to. Someone with their own consciousness, thoughts, feelings, struggles, and delights. I’d never use AI for that kind of writing just as I’d never read something that was obviously AI written. Yes there are exceptions for written work that I wouldn’t call “writing” per se, like press releases and documentation. Those are read for their utility, i.e. it’s work not choice, and as long as they do the job it’s fine to use AI.

Why do a lot of software people like a tool that can allow them to expend their mental energy on higher order problems, while writers dislike the tool that can replace their output completely? Truly one of the great mysteries of our time

What if, and hear me out, we connect all these trailers together. Maybe stack them on top of each other. Then we connect them to some engines with a driver and a conductor and have them travel on their own road. And to make it even more efficient, that road is made of steel rails

After 14 years of Tory mismanagement, the Criminal Justice System is on the brink of collapse. Around 80,000 cases are stuck in the backlog - expecting to rise to over 200,000 by 2035. These aren’t just statistics, these are people’s lives on hold. Victims waiting months, if not years for justice. Survivors waiting for closure. Families stuck in limbo. Defendants losing their jobs, homes and security. This Labour government will not stand by while working people pay the price of a failed system. The Courts Bill is about fixing a system that has been left to fail for far too long.

‘Hey’ came before ‘hi,’ and ‘hi' came before ‘hello.’ ‘Hi’ is most likely a variant of ‘hey.’ ‘Hello’ is not related to either. Goodbye.

One thing must be acknowledged about France: It has always emphasized the importance of Europe’s strategic independence from the US. Europe has often overlooked this warning. If Europe can aspire to autonomy today, credit must be given to Paris for keeping this vision alive. 🇫🇷🇪🇺

The enthusiasm of Europeans in response to France’s new nuclear-deterrence arrangement is striking. In the past they have disregarded France’s offer of cooperation economist.com/europe/2026/03…

Radar graphs are among the worst ideas in data visualization. The whole point of them is to show the area and you can usually reorder the labels freely in order to create a desired dramatic effect. Two versions of the same graph: - left one tells the story that AI is rapidly replacing whole industries - right one shows the "jaggedness" and reinforces the idea that humans will always have something that AI won't be able to replicate

I get why so much of the Trump admin messaging is done through extremely online memes - when they open their mouths and try to speak in complete sentences they usually make things worse.
