Spencer Pratt is probably not going to win the LA mayor’s race. But he has done something extremely valuable by going around the city and showing how bad it’s become…it’s proving that voters in blue cities don’t care how bad things get, picking Democrats is all that matters

Hire hundreds of social workers. Everyone living on the streets gets a caseworker. The caseworker will have no more clients as is feasible to see their clients once per day. Every single day the social worker makes contact, helps the person with immediate needs, checks on meds, helps them call their families, makes sure they get to their housing appointments. “Hey Bill, did you get your prescription yet? No? Let’s walk to the pharmacy together.” “Hey Mary, your sister said she wanted you to come home. Can we give her a call together? Maybe I can help you get home.” These workers would build trust, meet immediate needs, and help them in ways that connect them back to their own communities.

I help when possible, but Portland is simply so overwhelmed with suffering on the streets that I could spend 24/7 doing nothing but passing out food, consoling people, and calling 911. Sadly, my efforts would be nearly fruitless. How do you think we should help the homeless?

On average, there are five to seven Red Flag days in LA in a year. These are days when there is an extremely high risk of fires of the sort that destroyed the Palisades and Altadena. It strikes me as reasonable to ask people to not light a fire pit on these days.
