@guyfelicella Speak for yourself. I don't hate him. I watch to see what he is doing and figure out the reasons why by listening to people who help shed light. You should try it. Just kidding, your post indicate you're not interested.

Oh FFS stick a sock in this passe idiot’s mouth.
Robert Fife: Carney will be sending you roses, not to worry.
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca
Michael Serapio: When we were covering the Calgary Conservative convention, you looked at the coalition -- this is a coalition built by Pierre Poilievre Robert Fife: It's not much of a coalition, frankly. It's right-wing and MAGA.

@acoyne That folks is Sean Fraser on behalf of Mark Carney trying to grab central power. This is not what Canada is supposed to be. The notwithstanding clause is usually the response to the evercreeping march of the institutions probably since the days of Pierre Trudeau.
English

"Justice Minister Sean Fraser says he has significant concerns with the way the provinces are overriding Charter rights by invoking the notwithstanding clause, and he's prepared to establish guardrails around its use at the federal level..."
If the provinces are the problem, and they are, why only restrict it at the federal level? The plan at Confederation, and for decades after, was that the federal government would prevent provincial governments from abusing rights, using the disallowance power. Eventually that role was taken over by the courts, and the Charter. But if the Charter is fast becoming a dead letter, via the notwithstanding clause, then Canada would be left, for the first time in our history, with no effective protection for rights. That is, we will, unless the feds act.
The feds have the power to protect our rights. They should use it.

@JaredDapena I'm originally from the Maritimes and often visit family, but man, you guys fall for the messaging of the week like clockwork. Not everyone, but more than is healthy. For a people professing to be super friendly, there is a level of intolerance that is sometimes over the top.

A quick look at Carney’s record shows he has been wrong on every major economic issue:
He predicted COVID would cause DEFLATION.
He believes the government can print money without causing inflation.
He championed carbon taxes.
He supported Trudeau’s pipeline cancellations.
His net-zero banking alliance collapsed.
He lobbied to leave natural resources in the ground.
The fact that he went to school for a really long time to arrive at all those mistakes actually makes his failures even worse!

Current and former editors just testified at Parliament that 7 years of government subsidies have PERMANENTLY COMPROMISED Canadian media.
The 2019 bailout was supposed to be temporary.
It never ended.
The payments are secret & it’s the only federal program that doesn’t disclose what each company gets.
The government decides who qualifies as a “journalist” to receive the money.
141 news corporations now receive secret federal payments.
Media that take the money get better access.
Media that don’t are left outside.
Now you know why they never ask the hard questions.
You’re no longer watching the news, you’re watching the government’s investment ☹️

They hated harper, they hated O'Toole, they hated Scheer, the Hate Poilievre.
They literally say the same things about every Conservative leader... when will Canadians realize that it doesn't matter who the leader is? They will be vilified, bullied relentlessly, lied about, dehumanized, belittled, copied and then shamed while the person who copied them is praised... It's been the same pattern for decades.
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca
Mélanie Richer: "[Pierre Poilievre's] had a year to figure out what he's got to say since the last election and he hasn't come up with anything."
English

@RoyceKoop Exactly. I suspect that with Carney's majority we will see much more of that. They will create such a stink bomb about everything that Poiliever says that it will be much harder for Poilievre to do opposition talking points. Now who's more like the US? We've seen this playbook
English

To say that the party has “a lot of MAGA people in it” in the current political environment is blatantly prejudicial. This is the kind of commentary I’d expect from a Liberal Party spokesperson.
We should expect more from journalists. And we should be concerned when journalists like Fife craft their words in such a way that seems designed to damage one leader and party.
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca
Robert Fife: "The red Tories for the most part except for Michael Chong have been chased out of the Conservative Party and it's become more of a right-wing party with a lot of MAGA people in it."
English

@DefazioIvano Heck no, they'll double down on attacking Pierre Poilievre when he does his job of opposition, pointing out that maybe Carney's education was suboptimal. What could it be if the evidence of our decline is there for all of us to see. Doesn't an economist fix economies?
English

@10jmcda Our economy is in the toilet. Britain wanted him punted. How exactly did he find success with his fancy degrees? What kind of mental gymnastics are being played here when the leader has a sh*tty track record, but the opposition leader who's doing his job is the one in the wrong?
English

@KristinRaworth I thought she was OK but I never saw her as a strong leader in the way Poilievre is, consistently day after day, never faltering.
English

@PaulStewartII Is it a lie? Is Britain better because of him? Is Canada better because of him?
English

The ability to lie like this is truly pathological.
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca
Pierre Poilievre: "Mr. Carney has been wrong about every major economic issue of the last decade."
English

@sarobertsonca Our county's economy is in the toilet. PC's question should be a asked.
English

@GurvSC People only wake up when their own lives hurt. People reached that point with Trudeau. TDS, Naieve electorate, negative messaging towards Poilievre and Carney's untruthful messages worked against us. We can't control their behavior. Anyone strong would face it. One day at a time.
English

If the CPC doesn’t realize that things aren’t working soon they are going to get cooked. The problem isn’t Pierre, his approvals hovered in some polls around -4, even if the leader was +5 we would still lose.
We are simply losing on the issues irrespective of leadership. If you say grocery inflation, immigration, crime one more time it won’t change anything.
Anybody that deeply cares about those issues is already voting for us, you’re still campaigning like it’s 2024.
We saw last election that while the economy is important for a large part of the electorate there are other issues that are also very important.
According to abacus data we are losing on housing affordability, healthcare, Canada-US relations, job security, AI policy, etc.
How is talking about grocery prices, immigration (especially when we already have net-negative migration now), crime going to help us on those issues? It won’t.
@CPC_HQ Needs to smarten up fast.

The Liberals' newest MP told the media that her letters to the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure "[...]went really nowhere, until I crossed the floor."
She said the Minister's staff contacted her the day after she crossed the floor wanting to discuss projects in her riding that needed funding.
The Minister says he has no knowledge of this.
If ministerial staff are only paying attention to letters from Liberal ridings, then this is the very definition of corruption.
We need an investigation.
English

@CanadianModera1 Or is it propaganda and cheating or is it simply the public is either being misinformed or not informed. I have a hard time believing that being properly informed that people would choose to be serfs.
English

@therealmrbench Wow, the Liberals are stuck with that one. If they have any morals, they'd be wise to wear a piece of garlic for protection. Also that traitorous behavior will stick to them like barnyard mess to a sheep's overgrown coat. Let the chips fall where they may.
