@RoblyXNews24 it is nice to see the spring rain end the drought season but unless we learn to capture this runoff water in resrvoirs and dams, drought will always be a spring away and desertification will increase due to floods carring nutrient rich topsoil to the sea!
Mariam Robly | مريم روبلى@RoblyXNews24

The rain finally came to Somaliland, but without a way to hold onto it, the water just slips away—leaving us to face the next drought all over again.

This is another proof that Somaliland was always at the confluence of world trade and cultures. With the names of Zeila and Berbera going deep into the dawn of history! Thanks @DrJPPham!
Dr. J. Peter Pham 🇺🇲@DrJPPham

Fascinating! Two millennia before peace & good governance as well as the partnership between the Rep. of #Somaliland & the #UAE🇦🇪’s @DP_World made #Berbera the finest port on the eastern coast of #Africa, the region was already a trade hub between the Roman & Parthian empires.

Historic moment: @RepJohnRose has introduced the Somaliland Economic Access and Opportunity Act in Congress. Thank you, Congressman Rose and cosponsors @PatHarriganNC and @AndyOgles, for recognizing that Somaliland's financial inclusion serves both our nations' economic and security interests. This is meaningful progress. What is the Somaliland Economic Access and Opportunity Act, introduced today by @RepJohnRose? Here's what this legislation does and why it matters for U.S.-Somaliland relations. The bill acknowledges a critical challenge: Somaliland faces significant barriers accessing U.S. and international financial systems– affecting consumer banking, trade, counterterrorism, and anti-money laundering efforts. These barriers impact our 6.2 million citizens and limit economic cooperation with strategic partners. The legislation directs the Treasury Secretary to submit a comprehensive report to Congress within 180 days analyzing: • Legal and regulatory barriers to financial access, including the SWIFT payment system • Compliance with international AML/CTF standards • Steps Somaliland can take to enhance transparency • How the U.S. can facilitate responsible financial engagement. Why this matters: The bill recognizes Somaliland's strategic position in the Horn of Africa and finds that "enhanced financial access, conducted under appropriate compliance safeguards, would serve to strengthen U.S. policy objectives in the region.” This is how security partnerships advance – through transparency, compliance, and mutual interest. Thank you again to @RepJohnRose and cosponsors @PatHarriganNC and @AndyOgles for this important step forward.

An Ode for the Emirates 🇦🇪 "Forget the ruins of old and poets of the past... Sing for the miracle, mythical, meteoric rise of the Emirates. ——————————————— Let Imraul Qais, Antra and yesteryear poets Weep on their Atlal On their blackened hearthstones And sing an ode for the Emirates Forget Abbasid Baghdad and its splendors Its poets, its goblets, and its maidens And sing an ode for the Emirates Leave Umayyad Damascus and its domes Its Byzantium palaces, its Udari poets In the distant memory And sing an ode for the Emirates Weep not on the ruins of Al-Andalus And its cities of light The arches and tapestry of Al Hamra And fountains of Madinat Al-Zahra And sing an ode for the Emirates *** Sing for the miracle, mythical Meteoric rise of Abu Dhabi and Dubai For the splendid beauty of Sharjah For the elegance of Ajman and Umm Al Quwain For the glory of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah For the Shimmering towers adorning the sky For the highways and overhanging bridges Stop and gaze in amazement and awe At Arabia’s 21st century wonder And sing an ode for the Emirates. -@baruud (2nd Dec. 2016) ...Bashir Goth, who lived many years in the UAE,, wrote these words in 2016 to celebrate a vision that continues to amaze the world. 🌍💫 @FormulaRauda @DrAlsarrah @m_binmujrin @DrHabibAlMulla @dbelhoul @MeeraZayed

Honored by the warm welcome for Somaliland at the @AIPAC Congressional Summit reception. With friends old and new - Americans and Israelis, Republicans and Democrats - we discussed our shared democratic values and common interests in the Horn of Africa. We are deeply grateful to the State of Israel for its historic recognition and remain committed to joining the Abraham Accords, strengthening partnerships with the United States and Israel on security, trade, and economic growth. It was a pleasure seeing you my friend. And sure, we can only expect the list growing! Thanks for being a fellow traveler with Somaliland.
Dr. J. Peter Pham 🇺🇲@DrJPPham

Among many friends at tonight’s @AIPAC Congressional Summit reception, especially delighted see @baruud, head of the Republic of #Somaliland’s mission in the #USA🇺🇲. #Israel🇮🇱 is the first state to officially recognize Somaliland’s restored sovereignty. It won’t be the last!

Absolitely bang on @TiborPNagyJr!

@somalilandmfa Good for Somaliland Govt to call out inappropriate remarks from Turkish Prez Erdogan. Actually Erdogan could take some pointers on how democracy works from Somaliland's example - instead of stepping all over a capable, functioning nation's sovereignty.

Unlocking the Horn 🌍 IARI recently convened a high-level dialogue on Somaliland’s path to recognition and its growing strategic significance. Our webinar, “Somaliland’s Statehood: Strategic Drivers and Regional Implications,” examined the shifting geopolitical landscape of the Horn of Africa following Israel’s historic recognition of Somaliland. The session was chaired by Shiri Fein-Grossman, CEO of the Israel-Africa Relations Institute, and brought together Ambassador Bashir Goth, Dr. Greg Mills, Professor Sheldon Geller, and Dr. Asher Lubotzky. The discussion highlighted Somaliland’s unique grassroots journey to statehood, its democratic stability, and economic self-reliance, alongside the broader regional challenges. Speakers also explored why recognition matters, from strengthening counter-terrorism and maritime security to unlocking new opportunities for international investment, technological cooperation, and potential inclusion in the Abraham Accords. 📺 Watch the full webinar: youtu.be/aCkuE221T3M?si…
