this would be the most valuable pitcher in baseball. on top of all the guaranteed wins/saves and blowout innings eaten, you get the knock-on effects of other pitchers fresher. AND think of the situational value. 2-3 runners on, no outs… guaranteed 1 run, inning over. insane.

Tigers have lost 15 of 17 10.5 games out of 1st place 12 games under .500 And, With 110 games remaining Detroit is hesitant to call up players from the minors (that could help?) because it might mean they’d have to say goodbye to Short, Perez or Jones. Gonna be a long year.

The NFL has had “black lives matter” painted on all the fields for years. “End racism” on all the helmets. They added the “Black National Anthem” to pregame. They encouraged players to kneel during the National Anthem. But if you even show a sliver of support for Trump, or Conservative values of any kind, the Left, and their lapdog media, will lose their ever loving minds and claim that we are bringing politics into sports. They truly believe that their beliefs are the only acceptable ones, and that anyone who veers from their Left-wing ideology should be shamed, vilified, and cancelled. They intentionally created an environment where you are rewarded for showing support for the Left, but crucified for showing support for the Right. It’s not that they don’t want politics in sports, they just don’t want anyone else’s politics in sports. The pendulum has swung back, and they don’t like it now. Too late.

@VandyonTigers This never was a playoff caliber ROSTER. The Tigers made the playoffs (barely) the last 2 yrs bc their division is weak, and they had a few good pitchers. The lineup and defense have been dreadful since Harris took over. Ppl just ignored it bc 86 wins snuck into playoffs

Every analyst around the Tigers wants to say it but keeps dancing around it… this team flat out stinks right now. Injuries absolutely buried them, but the bigger truth finally got exposed: that “untouchable” Tigers farm system wasn’t nearly as ready as everyone sold it to be. Scott Harris protected this system at the deadline instead of upgrading a playoff-caliber roster… and now fans are watching replacement-level baseball while being told to trust the process again. For 2 years we heard about “organizational depth.” Well… depth gets tested when injuries hit. And the results have been ugly. Let’s hope for a W in game 2
