Today, UCT alum Matt Bucciero hit his 41st career home run for Fairfield University, becoming the program’s all-time home run leader. In a remarkable twist, he broke the record previously held by fellow UCT alum Charlie Pagliarini. What makes this achievement even more meaningful is what Matt faced earlier in the day—attending services for his grandfather, who recently passed away. Despite the emotional weight, Matt showed incredible strength and focus, collecting three hits and helping lead his team to his coach’s 900th career win. It was a day filled with emotion, resilience, and perseverance. We at Baseball U CT are incredibly proud of the players we’ve worked with and continue to support. Matt’s mental toughness and endurance reflect the mindset of a true champion. His grandfather would have expected nothing less than for him to play—and to make it memorable.
