Meghdoot (a messenger from the clouds) is a poem by Kalidasa, the 4-5th century Sanskrit author, considered as one of India's greatest poet and playwright. The large suspended black monsoon cloud acts a messenger for passengers transiting through a busy lounge. Using motifs, that almost makes the cloud look warped, the artist wants to shine light on the dire situation of global warming. The cloud also evokes unbound imaginations - why is the cloud becoming one with the earth rather than the sky? It brings back childhood memories of imagining familiar figures in the cloud formations, invoking Adbutha Rasa - joy and wonderment! The Artist believes her role in society is that of interpreting the contradictions present in society. She is therefore drawn to the usage of Charcoal as a medium which is a transition between wood and ash that similarly represents the modern societal contrasts. The next time you are at Terminal 2, be sure to capture the majestic Meghdoot and tag us! Final salute to Sri. Dora sir. Paid my last respects to the mortal remains of Sri. H. J. Dora, IPS (Retd). One always carries a special place in the heart for their first boss. Dora sir was my first boss, and his guidance left a lasting impression on me. Working under him was not merely a professional experience, but a lesson in leadership, discipline, and public service. His clarity of thought, calm demeanour, and unwavering commitment to duty shaped the way many of us approached our responsibilities. For officers like me, he was not just a senior, but a mentor whose influence will remain with us throughout our careers. 🙏
