Amb Huckabee is correct. This was a mistake by the Israeli police. The security concerns are real, but they should not have prevented the Patriarch from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to conduct the Palm Sunday blessing. I trust this mistake will be corrected quickly.
Ambassador Mike Huckabee@GovMikeHuckabee

My statement re Prohibiting the Latin Patriarch of entering Church of Holy Sepulcher on Palm Sunday: While all Holy sites in the Old City are closed due to safety concerns for mass gatherings including the Western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Al Aqsa Mosque, the action today by the Israel Nat'l Police to deny Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and 3 other priests from entering the Church to offer a blessing on Palm Sunday is an unfortunate overreach already having major repercussions around the world.  Home Front Command Guidelines restrict any gatherings to 50 people or less.  The 4 representatives of the Catholic Church were well below that restriction.  Statements from the Gov't of Israel indicate the action to prohibit Cardinal Pizzaballa entry to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher were for safety reasons, but churches, synagogues, and mosques throughout Jerusalem have met with the restrictions of 50 or less.  For the Patriarch to be barred from entry to the Church on Palm Sunday for a private ceremony is difficult to understand or justify. Israel has indicated it will work with the Patriarch to accommodate a safe means of carrying out Holy Week activities.

I'm not a judiciary expert, but if a judge says that as to one repeat litigant they cannot "proceed" normally because that litigant has lost the "confidence...of this court" in *all* cases no matter the attorney. That seems like an appearance of bias to me. Oy vey!

Can a federal district judge throw federal prosecutors out of a courtroom because he does not like an advisor to the Attorney General? Can he inquire as to the internal leadership structure of DOJ because of that animus? I'd think not! Even if the advisor traveled to his state...

I am disgusted that Skubal pitched in Spring Training yesterday as opposed to being there for 🇺🇸 the rest of the way in the World Baseball Classic. He can only go 6 innings in the deciding Playoff game. He pitches one game and then throws up deuces ✌️for America. Just gross.

I read it. I am thrilled by the destructive power of our military because it means we have the ability to overwhelm an enemy quickly, without protracted conflict. I am ecstatic about the way we have harnessed that power and guided it with precision based on painstaking intelligence gathering, target selection and training because it means we can bring that overwhelming destructive power to bear and obliterate military targets with minimal collateral damage. I am over-the-moon that we have made the world become so accustomed to our ability to reliably and precisely shoot a flea off a horse's butt from 300 yards without harming the horse that the world now exploits any - ANY - error in that killchain as the result of either negligence or malevolence. But make no mistake: those who try to exploit these tragedies and push our conscientious warriors toward pacifism... they have agendas of their own, and those agendas do not align with the historical teachings of our Church.

@CardinalBCupich If I believed your intentions were faith-based and not politically-based, then I'd read it. The USCCB has become the "religious" wing of the Democrat Party. A practicing Catholic cannot be a Democrat as currently comprised.

@CardinalBCupich Thank you for this. I thought it odd when media coverage, even on the BBC, uncritically reported the sinking of an Iranian warship as the first torpedo attack since WWII, and showed footage, but made no mention of the fate of the sailors or the circumstances. Just one example.

Capitol Police were attempting to remove an unhinged protestor from the Armed Services hearing. He was fighting back. I decided to help out and deescalate the situation. This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one. I hope he gets the help he needs without causing further violence.

Senator Sheehy joined Capitol Police in lifting up and ejecting anti war protestor Brian McGinnis from a SASC subcommittee hearing. McGinnis is a Green Party candidate running for Senate in N.C. An antiwar activist filmed the video below:

“Netanyahu walked into the Oval Office determined to keep the American president on the path to war.” Confirming what many assumed: We’re at war bc, in Trump & his feckless advisors, Netanyahu finally found the long-awaited administration that could be convinced to attack Iran.
Edward Wong@ewong

NEW from @nytimes: The definitive story of how Trump took an almost inevitable path to a new US war in the Middle East: Netanyahu repeatedly urged him to attack Iran with Israel, and no aides voiced opposition. Netanyahu also undermined diplomacy. Regime change became the goal.

@jsrbart19 @hasek_dominik We can start with: “we didn’t start the war 🥴”. We just did. Next: “Iran was an imminent threat”. Then little Marco admits: it might only threaten us (overseas) if first attacked, and Israel wanted to attack. They are all frauds 🚨

Everyone in the Trump administration lies all the time. We must not believe a single word these people say. Supporting these people in anything would be a big mistake and above all, we would be violating basic democratic principles!
Brian Krassenstein@krassenstein

BREAKING: Sec. of War Pete Hegseth: “We didn’t start this war, but under President Trump we are finishing it.” FACT CHECK: We started this war two days ago. Pete Hegseth is a liar, a fraud and a fool. If you voted for “no new wars,“ and are now supporting this rhetoric, then you are the problem.

All these assholes who say you can’t be Catholic and support abortion rights need to understand that the same logic applies to backing Donald Trump’s brutal immigration policies, supporting the death penalty, or cheering on the endless foreign wars Republicans are always so eager to start.

@Jane23498272203 @MikeNellis And to put an even finer point on it, support for abortion bans in civil law offends the Church law against theocracy, in support of free will, and in support of restraint in pluralistic society. @MikeNellis Opposition to abortion and fetishizing the fetus are attacks against women. Taking away women's rights, particularly the control of reproduction, is a key ingredient of fascism, as are the other things these "Catholics" support.

I am so shocked at how double-minded you are, Mr. Hale. On the one hand, you speak of your Catholicism, on the other, you choose the very words and actions Satan would use. Please, give me specifics about the MAGA movement where citizen rights have been impeded. Are you suggesting that we no longer take anyone into custody for crimes they have committed? Are you suggesting that every state adopt the policies of liberal, fallen cities like San Francisco and New York where the sin of theft is ignored and the plight of taxpaying citizens disregarded? Are you also okay with the murders continuing in the fallen city of Chicago? By your assessments you must also be indifferent regarding the drugs that have come across the border that have killed and destroyed families. How many of your posts would I find where you denounced the murders and rapes of women and children by illegals? How many prayers and condolences did you send the families? I have a feeling the answer is ZERO. Is the authoritism you speak of referring to the fact that full-grown men cannot compete in women's sports? Or that children can no longer be surgically mutilated and medically castrated? Are you talking about the fact that filthy, disgusting sexual books are no longer allowed in grade school libraries? Were you talking about Trump trying to limit abortions instead of allowing them through birth and beyond? Surely, you don't consider Planned Parenthood worthy of our tax dollars when they are murdering children in the womb... Hmmmm.... as a self-proclaimed Catholic, you must surely be aware that the Democrat regime, led by Joe Biden, was arresting people for praying outside abortion clinics, including a father of ten and a 80-something year old woman. Prayer. That is what you need most. As my baptized brother in Christ, I will offer prayer for you, as you are using the title Catholic, but is is not your lifestyle, any more than your examples of Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga you held up in an earlier post. Your politics and ambitions have blinded you. The double minded and lukewarm, God will spew from His mouth. Repent while there is still time.

My interview with Vox: “It’s very clear to me that Christian nationalism has no place for Catholics within it. Christian nationalism is evangelical Protestant nationalism. And it’s really pertinent to understand that the leaders of that movement do not think that Catholics are Christian, do not think that we have access to salvation. “That is the argument that I’m trying to make again and again. Christian nationalism and its stepbrother MAGA authoritarianism are both inherently anti-Catholic. “To be clear, I’m making a classist argument: I’m saying that my class, my ethnic identity, is excluded from this project. So yes, there is a war at play; it’s a culture war I welcome. “A culture war between a multi-ethnic American Catholicism versus white MAGA evangelical Protestantism is a culture war that, I believe, the left can win.” vox.com/life/478653/po…
