We are 4 min from the church building—never an excuse to not have folks over or be present with others. I loved life on the farm. Hope to get back there some day.

People really spend $500k to live in a copy-paste house where you can hear your neighbor sneeze. Meanwhile you could build for $275k and own 3–5 acres of land. Make it make sense.

@TheKingdomdad @FrontierBDesign We moved from rural 20 acres to 50 year old neighborhood in town. Loads of things I miss from the farm but being in the same neighborhood as folks from church and making ourselves more accessible for relationship were our reasons for moving in.

I've had hundreds of people email me over the last few years, seeking advice on a landscaping business they were looking to buy or the industry in general. I wonder how many actually acquired one? I wonder if I assisted anyone in taking the leap based on my comments? I wonder if any passed solely because of my comments? I always tried to say (directly or indirectly), don't take what I say as gospel. If you're confident, go! I wish I'd kept track; it would be interesting to see which group went through with buying vs. not.

My 9 year old is going to be a billionaire. Yesterday he started private speech training for his Rs and hated it. At bedtime he asked us to cancel it. We lovingly said no. This morning, before my wife was awake, he snuck into her room, grabbed her phone, somehow found the woman’s email, and emailed her as my wife, telling her to cancel. He’s never sent an email in his life. He won’t have a phone for 5 years. I’m not sure I’ve ever been more proud of him. His first name has two Rs, so when he introduces himself people can’t understand him. One of our family mottos is “you can just do things.” And that he did. 🤣Love that kid.

@SullyBusiness @STLChrisH 🤣 the arrows are the same color as the box where they originate. I suspect a white arrow just isn’t showing on a white background. But I may get schooled in all things Hoffman and find out that spot is the secret sauce to success.

Business buyers need to move slowly and be deliberate. You need to set your terms and stick to them. Don't be pressured by the seller or broker. Stop forgoing seller notes, giving non-refundable deposits, overlooking major diligence concerns, etc. Have the backbone to walk.
