One week of groceries for a family. Nothing extravagant. Just the bare bones in a blue state.
I stay home. My husband only leaves the house to work. We have cancelled vacations. Taken our children out of extracurricular activities. Cancelled our gym membership’s. We do not go out to restaurants frequently. All production costs were paid for by the non-profit, The Great American Road Trip, Inc. No one in my family - including my husband - were paid to do this. We did it for FREE to celebrate America 250 & encourage other Americans to get off couches & screens and spend time together seeing our country. It was filmed in small one and two day stops over the course of seven months.
You and I both know that my husband has done more in one year to transform the DOT and ATC than your husband did in over 4 years on the job. I still hope your family also embarks on a civic adventure this summer to celebrate America because to love America, you gotta see America!🇺🇸

I took my 11 year old to her checkup this morning and the nurse asked me to step out of the room for a moment. I politely declined and she said, "It's just for a moment." And I told her, "No thank you, given all the stories about children being abused my husband and I decided to never leave our children alone with anyone, even medical providers. Anything you need to do or say you can do with me in the room." She looked all miffed and just left, no idea what her plan was but she didn't feel the need to continue it with me present and that makes me even more suspicious?? When she left my daughter thanked me for not leaving, she's already shy about the doctor, her eyes got so wide when the lady asked me to leave.

So my daughter had a test and asked her teacher if she was going to grade them over the weekend so she could know her grade on Monday.
Her teachers reply “I’m not spending my weekend grading papers.”
Okay then.. moving forward my children will not spending their after school hours doing hours of homework.
They will not spending their weekend working on projects. They can do that during school time then.
