1 Corinthians 2 explains that God’s purpose in the cross was to expose the folly of the world’s wisdom. We, thus, have a duty to see and grapple with how the cross makes foolishness of even the best philosophical insights. Grapple with Aristotle. Consider Nietzsche. Learn from MacIntyre. But identify how the Cross comes into conflict with them all.

It is a loud answer: I don't want to be part of the "outrage market" around the Christian Nationalism and anti-Christian Nationalism dialogue. I have never been part of it. I've been about church-centered biblical localism for a long time and also rejected that label. My agenda is super clear these days. I primarily focus on content to encourage Christian families and pastors. The main "edgy" campaign that I've been involved in has been trying to move the PCA to deal with its very real functional female pastors. Almost all my content has been me simply repurposing my sermon content. I'm sick of all the JQ conspiracy nonsense, social media political intrigue, new ageism wrapped in Heiserism, and all the squabbles between Christian media platforms. I don't care about it. I don't want to be part of it. It's not my scene. In whatever ways I've been involved, I don't want to be involved anymore. I've tried to avoid it for a long time and just focus on helping regular folks. To leave no doubt, I think you, @realmikolson, are a tick-like Christian paparazzi attached to the swollen, putrid boil that is online reformed Christianity.

@thisisfoster So far I’m engaging with yours. A non-answer here is quite the loud answer.

One of the worst tragedies of our current moment is that just as the Men began to awaken in our culture to the evils of feminism, DEI, and the way modernity and liberalism have colluded to destroy Western Christendom, a number of influential voices went looking to eagerly provide the Girardian Scapegoat. So now the energy of these men is being spent spiraling on Jewish conspiracies, racialist idiocy, and historical purity spirals. Instead of an anger and shame leading to repentance and fruit, we have men angry and spiraling on fruitless online “battles” - which is even gayer than the sins of our youth.

The Gathered worship of the church is not primarily a learning environment it is fundamentally about gathering in the presence of our Holy God in the Name of Jesus Christ and in the Power of the Spirit. Everything (including the sermons, which aims to encounter the Living Word) is aimed at that.

You mean like Jefferson who said Jesus was just a man while he was raping his slave? Washington who never took the Eucharist? John Adam’s who founded a Unitarian Church and rejected the Trinity and Jesus’s divinity? Madison who wrote the 1st Amendment?

@AndrewTWalker @RevKevDeYoung @JonathanLeeman I agree with the sentiment, but that fails as a syllogism. Do political orders require “truly” virtuous people? If so, then the conclusion would be that political orders require Christianity. The church’s role would require a separate syllogism.

@GMRench No. It's not. Army-Navy month is the best sports month of the year. You are clearly pushing some sort of Western Wall conspiracies with this sort of slop-post.

“When the Spirit is grieved by elder boards packed with schoolmarms, liberty disappears along with any understanding of what true liberty even is. And when we have lost this understanding in the community of saints, we are dreaming to think we can find it anywhere else . . . Not to put too fine a point on it, we are becoming slaves of men in the political realm because we do not care enough about understanding liberty in the church. Freedom frightens us.” (The Cultural Mind, p. 37)
