@Titanium147 @TomBuck A prisoner on death row is welcome to convert. Jesus made him new. The state should still execute him.

@Titanium147 @TomBuck When a single mom who sinned to become one gets converted the physical consequence of the sin is not removed.

Apparently, Rahab was worthy to be found in God’s Hall of Faith but not worthy to be the wife of a Christless Nationalist’s son. “By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish along with those who were disobedient, after welcoming the spies in peace.” Hebrew 11:31

@Bible_truth2026 That doesn’t follow. I put more energy into my job than I spend time with my wife every day, but I deem my wife to be more important than my job.

I’d rather one of my children marry someone who was sexually immoral before they got saved, repented, came to Christ, and is walking in faithful obedience than any of these self-righteous people who don’t either believe or understand the power of the gospel to transform lives!

@Bible_truth2026 Even if someone argued that one race was superior to another that doesn’t mean they’re arguing that nation or kin are greater than “the spiritual.”

@Bible_truth2026 Which articulation of Christian Nationalism gives nation or kin the same level of importance as the spiritual and what do you mean “the spiritual?”

@bbwoofield @jonathanramont These things include nation, kin, etc. these things are not bad in and of themselves but they're often given the same level of importance of the spiritual, especially in Christian nationalist circles.

@bbwoofield Yes, would to God that I could persuade the rich and the mighty that they would permit the whole Bible to be painted on houses, on the inside and the outside, so that all can see it. That would be a Christian work. Martin Luther

I'm very far from being a Bleedenstormtrooper Iconoclast, quite the opposite, but AI depictions of God are a step too far.

@WozzleBaby @TomBuck Sure there’s an ideal, but there’s not enough ideal people to go around, so our expectations should probably match reality

Why the admonition to marry someone equivalent in past sins? I mean, I understand the discernment aspect of it being preferable to marry a virgin. Absolutely. But I've seen drug addicts in a relationship pull each other into that temptation, and the same applies to people who struggle with gluttony. It also applies with sexual sins as well. I think marrying a virgin should be the ideal no matter your status

If someone argues that a former promiscuous woman is "damaged goods" and questions whether a Christian young man should marry her, remember Rahab. She was a Canaanite prostitute but became a mother in the lineage of Jesus. God redeemed her, cleansed her, and Salmon married her.

The OP doesn’t want to get into debate on this, which is fair enough. But please note how Daventian HU fails the “like causes always produce like effects” test. What’s the difference between the death he died for the elect, and that for all, that explains these different results?
Oz Marquez 🕊️@OzMarquezz

Christ died for all so that, upon the condition of faith, they may be saved. Christ so died for all of God’s elect that they should infallibly be brought to faith.

@JeffVanderstelt @DavidMRice1967 “We need to get away from primarily standing on a stage and start doing life together. We need to follow Jesus’ example of disciple-making.” Jesus preached quite often as well as His Apostles.

@DavidMRice1967 I’m not diminishing the role of the preacher. I’m just making the point we need more than just talking. We need to demonstrate what we teach. We need to get away from primarily standing on a stage and start doing life together. We need to follow Jesus’ example of disciple-making.

Of all the learning methods, lecture is the least effective (5% retention) of them all. If this is the case why do we still do so much of it in the church?

@WoodsReflection @MarkMacdonald75 Same effect upon condition. I’m granting your first premise because obviously you can’t think outside of your own framework and so I’m asking if even with that granted if it is inconsistent.
