It’s weird how no universal health care, no gun control, no public health system, no real economic mobility for poor people, and no decent public housing or nursing home options for old people winds up making life expectancy so much lower in America. Someone should study this.

In the six or so months in between, I was answering questions on a central message board, blogging, and launching an open source project. That job was a big jump, and I kept doing those things, and I never looked back. The same recipe would work fifteen years later, in 2022.
