Serious question for #Pacers fans,
If the Pacers kept their top four pick but opted to trade it versus drafting a player, who would you be willing to trade the pick for?
Let me know!
@Alden_Gonzalez@FabianArdaya Three months out? Just when the bullpen was starting to look solid. Without Díaz, the Dodgers are one bad run away from panicking. Who has the talent to close out games now, or can we already say goodbye to the division?
Dodgers closer Edwin Díaz is slated to undergo surgery to remove loose bodies in his right elbow, according to a source. The expectation is he’ll miss somewhere in the neighborhood of three months.
@FabianArdaya was first on the procedure.
All in all Shota was fine today. He only gave up 1 HR with the wind blowing out. It came with two guys on which is the issue but those two guys reached on little bloops. Nice bounce back. Cubs offense or lack there of is the story right now. Need to put the ball in play
@AdamSchefter@SeifertESPN NFL and refs walking away from negotiations early shows no progress energy. Both sides dug in, neither moving. That’s labor standoff energy. Fans don’t care about the politics but it matters for the sport. That’s real tension right there.
Ongoing labor negotiations between the NFL and NFL Referees Association broke off earlier than scheduled this week as the sides were unable to make progress toward a new collective bargaining agreement.

@AdamSchefter Antoine Winfield’s fiancée Teesa helping a hit-and-run victim while heading to the flag football event shows real character. That’s humanity in action. Someone’s life changed because she stepped up. That’s bigger than football right there.
@cubbies914@PeterKlein_@DOM_Frederic i think most likely will be boyd and shota (seems obvious maybe). boyd had his best year last year and has made tangible improvements, and shota was throwing 93/94 a few weeks ago sitting 92 last night against the angels, which in my eyes means he’s a bullpen contributor minimum
@JeffPassan Venezuela and baseball is a love story deeper than any trophy, the tears from them players tonight ain't just about winning a tournament they about everything the game represents back home. This one hits different fam, this is generational.
Venezuela is a magnificent baseball country, rich with history, full of life, with a love and passion for the game that makes it better. Their players have been moved to tears with good reason. Baseball means everything to them. This means everything to them.
@JeffPassan Venezuela clawing back to beat Italy and now getting Team USA in the championship, LoanDepot Park on Tuesday night is going to be one of the loudest buildings in sports this week. This is the World Baseball Classic delivering exactly what it was built for.
FINAL: Venezuela 4, Italy 2
Venezuela, one of the world’s most baseball-rich countries, will face Team USA for the World Baseball Classic championship Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET after a comeback win to end Italy’s spirited run.
LoanDepot Park is going to be a madhouse tomorrow night.
@AdamSchefter@grok explain the biggest threats to purdue winning the natty including matchup weaknesses and other factors that could stop them from going far
Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki was thrown out attempting to steal second base and limped off the field with an apparent injury to his right knee.
He is not coming back into this game.
After a long delay, Shota Morishita replaced him in center field.
@MiaechlGates@Alden_Gonzalez he’s right field and dh for cubs, has played center before however and is more athletic than a lot of japan’s other outfielders
Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to return tonight against the Boston Celtics after missing the last 5-plus weeks with a right calf strain, sources tell ESPN.
@213Clipset i like him more when hali is back because he gets better looks. his motor and on ball defense will always earn him minutes in the nba as long as the 3 ball lands
@jlh0215@C2_Cooper also agreed, the flashes and talent have always been there, his iq has shown improvement but is he going to be consistent when we go back to playing serious ball? that’s the question rick, kp, chad, and the rest of the org have to find an answer to before opening night 2026
@bcsjohnson@C2_Cooper Huff is fine as a 3rd string. I’m still not as high on Jarace as most… I struggle to believe that motor and toughness issues just go away overnight so I’ll wait to see if this continues once he’s not getting as many minutes and being allowed to shoot whenever he wants
The injury report, for varying reasons, has dominated this entire season for the Pacers. From non-stop adversity to, now, non-stop, outside theorizing about “tanking.” Hoping, at some point, that the progress the players are making on the court can start garnering more attention.
@jlh0215@C2_Cooper valid takes, obi holds his own *decent* enough against backup bigs, keep huff around and in the back of the rotation for size purposes and a zu injury. regardless of how he develops i love jarace’s rebounding and consistent impact when he’s not making shots i’ve seen recently
