@BlueBoxDave Remember when it was verboten to associate gay people with AIDS? Now it’s OK for Big Pharma to do it on TV every 15 minutes.

There are pharmaceutical ads on TV that, as best I can tell, are drugs that let gay and trans people have unprotected sex without getting HIV. And, ok, that’s good, I guess, but running national ad campaigns makes me wonder if it’s the drug or the lifestyle being advertised.

@beyondreasdoubt I’m sure he’ll lay out at least a vague case for why we’re doing this. But it’ll primarily be a prep rally, and nobody outside of the journosphere will watch it. It’s sad that taking out the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism before they get nikes is unpopular.

And the only reason, the *only* reason we're having this debate is because Presidents and congress from both parties refused to simply enforce immigration law for the past 30 years, and more so none other than Joe Biden. This is what happens when everything breaks.

You are all laughing at SCOTUS Justice Ketanji Brown Bluesky, but they really do believe if you commit a crime in a country, it still entitles you to citizenship. Look at the past year. She just wasn't supposed to say it, much less say it that clumsily.

@megbasham @MZHemingway Americans already have numerous other reasons to not respect the courts, and the courts largely don’t seem to care about this.

I don’t know what the Supreme Court will decide on the question of birthright citizenship. But I know this, if the courts continue to enforce practices that increase chaos, destruction, and division within the United States, like allowing 1.5 million Chinese nationals to vote because they happened to be born in an American hospital, people will very soon stop respecting the courts. And then things will really get dangerous.

@BlueBoxDave The infuriating thing about this is that if Goode and Pretti had interfered with/accosted local law enforcement dealing with U.S. citizen criminal suspects, nobody would’ve cared.

It didn’t help when half the conservative movement lost its spine over Goode and Pretti. Because if we have a “zero tolerance for violence policy,” even when agents are accosted, then we obviously can’t have mass deportation. No law enforcement can work that way.
David Marcus@BlueBoxDave

Conservatives have to accept the real possibility that doing what it takes to carry out mass deportations is more than the public will tolerate. The administration is clearly bending to that popular pressure, and it might be a political reality that can’t be changed.

My favorite part of the “No Kings” rally is when all the politicians who took glee in trying to keep you from seeing your family for years during COVID get behind a mic and say something dumb about Trump.

To be fair, every "armed socialist" is eventually an unarmed socialist. Except those working directly for the regime. No socialist country in history has respected the right to keep and bear arms, at least not on a permanent basis.

This gun is going to cost me so much money in ammo. Such a joy to shoot, I don't want to stop. Of course I finally get my first 2011 when ammo prices are surging. 😐

Hard to sustain total world domination empire when your own people don't feel like raising kids to keep the whole thing going. It's not about harvesting the young to fund the old, or about worker shortage, or keeping S%P high. Simply that if you want to keep a nation you must reproduce a nation. These two things are intricately, metaphysically, irrevocably linked.

@MorosKostas The coinciding factors of our corrupt government creating a low-trust society and gun culture exploding in popularity in the social media age mean that the 400 million or so guns aren’t going anywhere, regardless of what the laws say.

A big part of the reason we are winning the culture (antigunners have the edge, for now, in the courts) is because antigunners are still arguing like the progun side is what it was 75 years ago. Our primary concern is not hunting. It is personal and collective defense. And, we are very much aware of how authoritarian other western countries that restrict firearms have become. We're not letting that happen here.
