His name was Pradyumn Thakur. He was 7 years old. Class 2 at Ryan International School in Gurugram, Haryana. His father dropped him at the school gate at 7:55 am on September 8, 2017. At 8:08 am, he was found outside a washroom with his throat slit. He was rushed to hospital and declared dead on arrival. The school did not call the police. His parents did. Haryana Police arrived three and a half hours later. They noticed blood stains on bus conductor Ashok Kumar. The same clothes he wore while carrying a bleeding 7 year old child to a car. On September 10, the Police Commissioner held a press conference. He declared Ashok Kumar was the killer. He said Ashok had tried to sexually assault Pradyumn and murdered him. The Chief Minister of Haryana congratulated the police for solving the case. The Bar Association of Gurugram passed a resolution refusing to let any lawyer defend Ashok Kumar. The Supreme Court later disciplined them for this. Pradyumn’s mother said from day one she believed Ashok was being framed. CBI took over the case. They found no forensic evidence against Ashok Kumar. No evidence of sexual assault. The gardener who was first at the scene said he saw no blood on Ashok before Ashok helped carry the child. The claimed semen sample did not exist. [Source: CBI chargesheet 2018] In November 2017, CBI arrested the real accused. A 16 year old student at the same school. CBI said he confessed to killing Pradyumn to get his exams cancelled. He chose his victim randomly. Ashok Kumar was acquitted of all charges on February 28, 2018. [Source: Child Special Court Gurugram judgment February 28, 2018] In January 2021, CBI charged four Gurugram Police officers with framing Ashok Kumar. Falsifying documents. Torture. Criminal conspiracy. [Source: CBI chargesheet January 2021] Those four officers have not been convicted. The Police Commissioner who declared Ashok guilty on television faced no consequences. The Chief Minister who congratulated police faced no consequences. Pradyumn’s family is still waiting for justice for their son. Follow for stories India deserves to remember.

French scholar Sylvain Lévi: "Had this Bengal Tiger been born in France, he would have exceeded even Georges Clemenceau, the French Tiger. Ashutosh had no peer in the whole of Europe." He was a mathematician, lawyer, jurist, judge, educator, and visionary institution-builder who had an unyielding commitment to Indian self-respect under British rule. 🇮🇳 He was born on 29 June 1864 in Bowbazar, Calcutta. At just 15, he stood 2nd in the Calcutta University entrance exam (1879) and earned a scholarship. He studied at Presidency College and showed genius-level aptitude: he solved all 348 exercises in Pott’s Euclid before the exam! 🇮🇳 He became the first student in Calcutta University’s history to earn dual Master’s degrees: MA in Mathematics (1st class, 1885) MSc in Physics/Natural Sciences (1886). 🔹️He published his first research paper in mathematics as a first-year undergraduate (1880) on Euclid’s propositions. By 1886, his work on elliptic functions earned praise from British mathematician Arthur Cayley as “of outstanding merit.” 🔹️He was one of the first Indians to publish original research in British journals. 🔹️Elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (FRSE) at age 22 (1886), Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society (FRAS), Royal Irish Academy (MRIA), and member of mathematical societies in London, Paris, Palermo, and America. He knew Sanskrit, Pali, French, German & Russian. 🇮🇳 Enrolled as Vakil at Calcutta High Court (1888). Earned LL.D. (1897). Appointed Tagore Professor of Law (1898) and authored the authoritative book- The Law of Perpetuities in British India (1902). Appointed Puisne Judge of Calcutta High Court in 1904 (age 40), served until 1924, acting as Chief Justice multiple times. Delivered over 2,000 judgments noted for erudition, integrity, and clarity. 🇮🇳 He was the Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University (1906–1914 & 1921–1923), second Indian Vice-Chancellor. He turned a mere examining body into one of Asia’s leading centres of teaching and research. Key achievements: 🔹️Introduced postgraduate departments in Comparative Literature, Anthropology, Applied Psychology, Industrial Chemistry, Ancient Indian History, Islamic Culture, and modern Indian languages. 🔹️Hired global talent and supported Indian stars like C.V. Raman (Nobel laureate), S.N. Bose, and Meghnad Saha. 🔹️Founded University College of Science (Rajabazar), University College of Law, and Ashutosh College (1916). 🔹️Played key role in Bengal Technical Institute (now Jadavpur University). President of Board of Studies in Mathematics for 11 years; Syndicate & Senate member. 🔹️He founded Calcutta Mathematical Society (1908) and remained its President until death. 🔹️First President of the Indian Science Congress (1914). 🔹️President of Asiatic Society of Bengal (multiple terms). 🔹️Vice-President & later President of Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS). 🔹️Donated his vast personal library (80,000+ books) and served on Imperial Library Council. 🇮🇳 He fought colonial interference in education and insisted on academic freedom and Indian pride. Convocation/Address (1923): “We stand unreservedly by the doctrine that if education is to be our policy as a nation, it must not be our politics; freedom is its very life blood, the condition of its growth, the secret of its success- there stands forth unshaken the conviction that our insistent claim for the freedom of the University is a fight for the most sacred and impalpable of national privileges." His motto: “Freedom first, freedom second, freedom always” encapsulated his lifelong stance. He believed education, free from colonial meddling, was key to national awakening. 🇮🇳

🚨 SHOCKING NEWS A 14-year-old girl in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly raped repeatedly by her uncle Mohammad Arif. When she confided in her father, Mohammad Farman, he too raped her. Both have been ARRESTED by the police.

In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, a laptop was stolen on the Vande Bharat train. When the railway police began their investigation, CCTV footage showed a man walking away with the laptop bag. The police placed the mobile number used to book the seat under surveillance. Soon, the suspect’s location was traced to Delhi. A police team immediately left for Delhi, and with the help of the local police, they reached a hotel where the man, posing as Harshit Chaudhary, was found drinking alcohol. When the police tried to arrest him, he claimed that he was a Major in the army and that the bag had come to him by mistake. Hearing this, the police hesitated for a moment, but the CCTV footage clearly showed him committing the theft. During questioning, he presented a fake army ID card and repeatedly identified himself as Harshit Chaudhary. The police then asked about his place of posting. When they verified the details with the army, the truth came to light. In reality, the man’s real name was Mohammad Shahbaz Khan. He had been posing as a Major named Harshit Chaudhary using fake documents, including a forged identity card. Mohammad Shahbaz Khan, a resident of Aligarh, is a married man with two children. He had once served as a soldier in the army in 2015 but was dismissed due to indiscipline. After that, he turned to theft and other criminal activities. While the investigation was ongoing, the police received a call on his confiscated mobile phone from a woman, which led to another shocking revelation. Using his fake Hindu identity and the persona of an army Major, he had contacted over 100 Hindu women through Shaadi.com. He had met 40 to 50 of them in person under this false identity and had cheated several of them out of lakhs of rupees. Police revealed that he had physical relationships with at least 24 women from well-off, working backgrounds. In one case, he even entered into a live-in relationship with a woman and married her in a temple, keeping her in a rented house in Aligarh. The call received by the police was from this same woman, who claimed to be his wife. He is currently lodged in Ahmedabad jail, and further interrogation is ongoing.

DODA, Jammu & Kashmir April 30 - May 1, 2006 Terrorists in combat uniform asked residents of Kulhand village in Doda to come out of their houses around 2.30 am and divided them on the basis of religion.
