Wigs are not less maintenance than your natural hair. Wigs are not cheaper to maintain than natural hair. All this extra manipulation isn't more than what you do to make your wig fit societal standards. Stop the dishonesty.

For me, the discourse on natural hair never really hits. Esp when I think about the reason why I tend to wear wigs more. It’s not cause I don’t think I’d look good in my natural hair but it’s the time / effort that it takes to make my natural hair fit into societal standards

One thing about burying a partner and not being married as a gay person is that luckily he didn’t have major assets because if he did I’m sure his mother who he was estranged from would have taken everything. Gay men if you are in a relationship and not married and without children, especially if you don’t want to marry. Set up something legally to protect your assets and where they go when you leave this earth. Don’t leave your partner scrambling to figure things out. Be comfortable having a conversation about your death and don’t let your homophobic family get the things you worked hard for.
