This collection of litter is what I retrieved in one spot of the West Somerset coast which the sea has eroded. Some of it is 50 years old and those who left their litter thought it wouldn’t matter. Luckily I found it before it ended up being even more plastic in our oceans.

You can take them direct to the council tip but place them carefully in the gas cage recycling area. They’re only dangerous as they can explode especially in the incinerator which puts hoppers out for days. There’s a litter picker on X who recycles the metal and creates sculptures!

#litterpickers I’m wondering how you deal with these if you find them? Our local @Biffa recycling centre charge £9.60 for taking them and @SomersetCouncil say it’s dangerous to remove them and should report as fly tipping! We’re trying to keep our countryside litter free.

@SomersetCouncil You really aren’t watching your spending. Until now, our council tax has been a joint bill. Today, my wife and I received identical separate bills, both sent First Class wasting both money, paper and printing. Surely there should be the option of paperless bills

I must clarify that the recycling centre is owned by @SomersetCouncil but @Biffa are the contractor so I’m not sure who is imposing the charge.

Why are @MonsterEnergyUK putting these plastic stickers on lids? It’s bad enough that so many of their cans get littered. It’s a daily routine removing them from the top of the bin outside of shops that sell them while trying to keep our town tidy.

@Hoopss I assume she’s not a volunteer! If I decide to tip, it’s in cash to the server, not part of the bill where the business decides how much to pass on.

@SomersetCouncil A driver stopped as a parking enforcement officer was walking past and said “I’m ok here for a couple of minutes aren’t I?” She said “you can stay there for an hour.” He locked up his car and left. 1 min later, a car arrived needing the disabled space!

Good news story! I was invited to do a school assembly about helping our oceans. The next day, the head teacher phoned me to say how much the children and teachers enjoyed it with one boy in particular who went home and telling his parents about it. The result … @bbcsomerset

Due to the weather, I booked my wife a hotel in London so she didn’t need to drive home tonight. After checking in and going to her room, she realised her phone case and cards were missing. Reception quickly checked cctv, called security and retrieved them all!

Who remembers using multiple light adapter plugs particularly at Christmas time? Housewives would find them perfect when doing the ironing!

Hugely disappointed with my @marksandspencer order of 4 items and all this plastic packaging. This is no longer acceptable and if it wasn’t so close to Christmas, I would be returning it. Until this changes, I won’t be buying from them online again. #plasticwaste
