What happens if you have masses that are in quantum superpositions of different locations? Quantum theory requires every object to be capable of being in such a superposition. At the same time, these masses should also obey general relativity. But general relativity can't deal with these superpositions of locations or anything else - it says that every mass takes on one state at a time. The Chapel Hill Conference of 1957: One camp of physicists, led by Richard Feynman, was convinced that quantum theory is a universal theory and, therefore, masses and their gravitational interaction should themselves be in superposition. The other camp said that quantum theory could be false at some point, that it stops applying at some scale. This way, gravity can survive as a classical entity. This clash exists to this day. ~Conjecture Institute Senior Scientist Chiara Marletto

What’s a philosophical idea that completely rewired how you see the world?

@AnnCoulter Fox News is now the fake news. Brainwashing boomers to support what we voted against.
