@najam_ali So you want the oil prices to erupt? Do you know the effect it will have on countries like ours? On poor people?

The Tipping Point for Oil Many people are asking why oil prices haven’t risen and crossed the previous highs despite the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb. If you remember oil surged to around US$125 as markets priced the immediate shock and feared the worst. But as it became clear that inventories, softer demand and alternative supplies could cushion the disruption, prices retreated. The key point is this: inventories are not infinite. Oil markets can remain deceptively calm. Once reserves approach critical levels, the market stops pricing probabilities and starts pricing an unavoidable physical shortage. That is when prices can simply erupt.

Trump chose this war. He no longer controls the choices it has created. The longer he delays a settlement and pursues escalation, the harsher the eventual terms of reconciliation will become. He is now caught in an escalation trap: unable to win decisively, yet increasingly unable to retreat without paying a higher price.

@najam_ali Iran has chosen to continue this war after the MOU had been signed by firing cruise missiles at unarmed ships in Omani territorial waters. Why should we suffer for Iran's disgraceful conduct?

@beena_farhat Yes, it should. If Iran faces a hostile takeover by foreign powers, it should be shut.

India will STOP Indus from flowing into pakistan. No power on this planet can stop India. India does not give a fuck about ICJ, WB or any international tribunal. India is 1.4Billion worlds largest democracy, and she will protect protect her civilians from repeated Islamic terrorist attacks from Pakistan. India WILL weaponize water to force Pakistan to stop Islamic terrorism on Indian civilians. This is not Gandhi Nehru's India. RSS/BJP has zero tolerance for Islamic terrorism and will make pak pay dearly.

“India cannot put any river in abeyance. India cannot hold water hostage. India cannot starve a civilisation into compliance. India cannot wield rivers as weapons. Pakistan has decided that we shall protect our rivers. Pakistan will protect life and civilisation. Our people and their armed forces have defended this soil in four wars. We will fight India’s attempt at hydro-hegemony. We seek peace, but we shall fight this war if imposed on us. We shall take this fight to international courts and councils, to the court of world opinion, and to the conscience of citizens everywhere – until weaponisation of water is condemned and outlawed, international law is restored and justice flows as freely as the rivers that nurture the Indus civilisation.” By @kdastgirkhan thenews.pk/print/1424077-…

Pakistan has done a good job of mediating on the current US-Iran standoff. This conflict however is never ending and will go on. International waters cannot be allowed to be controlled in any manner whatsoever by anyone nor can a fees be charged. Pakistan should focus elsewhere.

In February 2026 Greg Chappell wrote an open letter signed by 14 international cricket captains requesting Pakistan PM to free Imran Khan. Now with a message on T shirt FREE Imran Khan he is reminding all cricket lovers to back his request. We need to support it.

Not just cricket lovers, but anyone committed to democratic values should back Greg Chappell and the group of former captains on this: the continued incarceration of Imran Khan is a BLOT on the Pakistani state. Nearly three years in jail, with Pakistan’s most popular political leader effectively kept out of the political arena, raises troubling questions about democracy, due process and the rule of law.😡

@MichaelKugelman Singapore Airlines' second-quarter earnings plunged 82%, as losses from Air India and "associated companies" reached $295 million from July to September of 2025. The company also posted a record-setting second-quarter revenue (+2.2%) and announced a special dividend package for..

@MichaelKugelman We are not against talks, India's decision to halt trade, IWT has not hurt us ( so far!). Our decision to close airspace has hit India very very hard as their airline industry is on the verge of collapse. Even Singapore airlines has suffered damage because of all this 1/2

One year after Op Sindor, a top RSS official says India should keep the door open for dialogue w/Pakistan. This comes after recent reports of unofficial India-Pak exchanges. Worth recalling a historic pattern: After India-Pak crises, bilateral tensions have tended to ease up.

@mmrattan @MichaelKugelman Did you notice how meekly the US top brass and even secretary Hegseth diverted Graham's questions. Graham was left with no option but to do the tough talking himself as others in the room were in no mood to offend Pakistan.

The CBS report is a case of a shaky assumption being made about a clear fact. Yes there were Iranian jets in Pakistan. But a stretch to say they were being protected from US strikes-esp. as they were there post-ceasefire. Seems plausible they were there to serve Iran diplomats.

@MichaelKugelman Lindsey Graham is nobody to question what we do on our sovereign territory. Reportedly some (Iranian) planes have also been parked in Afghanistan. As a mediator we do favors to the US all the time, we also have to do some favors to Iran!

India and Pakistan started the journey at the same footing in August, 1947. Now, after almost 80 years, India is a $4 trillion economy, while Pakistan is barely escaping the default. What is one good thing that India did for its economy that Pakistan could not do ? Share your thoughts.

@pkbittu65 @LodhiMaleeha In a democracy, everyone is innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of law. Every citizen, no matter what he has done, has a right to a free trial. A state either has to try a citizen or to release him. A state cannot hold an individual (to punish him) without a trial
