@ProvisionistP @EvanPaul05 Literally says “while we WERE still sinners” (implication: the “we” are no longer sinners)

@EvanPaul05 “Us” is believers, who are former sinners (“while we WERE yet sinners” -Paul). Yes we still sin occasionally as believers and in that sense we are sinners, but we are not sinners in the sense that we are united with Christ and our identity is in Him, not in our sin.

@AbidingInLove_ @Soteriology101 What’s happening? Did Paul forget what he wrote just two chapters earlier in Romans 5, particularly v15? Is he unaware of the Psalms, especially 51:5? Neither, rather in Romans 7 Paul is using a series of metaphors to explain the effects of the law on one’s relationship with sin.

@beequoo @Soteriology101 Romans 7 Paul the Apostle states, He was alive apart from the Law, but when the Law sprang to live I died. Paul states the first time he realized he coveted he died. We die the first time we sin, and then can repent and believe in Jesus to be reconciled to God.

According to #Calvinism everyone who ends up in hell was: •Born rejected by God (NON-ELECT) • Born unable to believe (TOTAL INABILITY) • Born guilty for someone else’s sin (ORIGINAL GUILT) • Born without any means of atonement (LIMITED ATONEMENT) How are they not merely pitied as helpless victims, rather than justly rebuked and punished—as if they had any control over the way they were born? If Calvinism is true there is no good reason not to just feel sorry for unbelievers and there certainly doesn't seem to be any justification for rebuking and punishing them.

@howertonjosh You literally said that meeting you is a once-in-a-lifetime event for your church members. With all due respect, how would you know how in touch pastors—pastors who pastor their people —are with their congregations?

@AbidingInLove_ @Soteriology101 So if you agree that we are eventually dead in our transgression and sins, when does this take place?

@RutgerMonty @MobofJoggers Whaaaaaaaat! You’d swerve across imminent oncoming traffic to avoid hitting a dog?

@MobofJoggers Not the choice I would have made - there was plenty of time (without spooking the other driver too much) to cross the oncoming lane and head for the grass shoulder on the left. But one caveat: if another car was following closely, then there's no hope for the dog.

@Waldorfmanhaha @Soteriology101 @1984_nate Thank God that second sentence is not true, or no one would ever receive grace. There are no preconditions on receiving grace. Grace = FREE gift.

@Soteriology101 @1984_nate Also not: God gives humility by an act of grace. Humility precedes grace and is a precondition to receiving grace.

@Soteriology101 Never heard that as a technical term. Surely you mean “original guilt?” Either way, “born guilty for someone else’s sin” is a gross oversimplification. Can you make a case against “original guilt” from the Bible?

@beequoo @Soteriology101 Calvinism is actually the belief that all men are born guilty and spiritually dead for Adam’s Sin and can only be given eternal life before they believe in Jesus Christ. In scripture a person believes in Jesus and then given eternal life John 20:31.

@UndawntdObsErvr @5Solas You just said essentially: “If the Bible is living and active then why do you need to measure everything you say against the Bible?”

@5Solas If the word of God is living and active then why do you need to measure every thing you say against what's already been said? Does the Spirit work through you or no, if He does then why concern yourself with what you should say? Mark 13: 11

Isaiah 5 destroys Augustinianism (Calvinism). The fact Calvinists reference Isaiah shows how intellectually broken they are. They have zero understanding of scripture.
Provisionist Perspective 🩸🌍@ProvisionistP

@ronhenzel Isaiah was not an “Augustinian”: “What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, Did it bring forth wild grapes?”

@BobBrown4022 @1friendofGod2 Women were seen as much lesser so no one would choose them as their witnesses in a fabricated story. There is extrabiblical evidence that confirms Jesus was buried in Joseph’s tomb. Jesus fulfilled over 300 specific prophecies, including Isaiah 9 and Isaiah 35 to name a couple.

@1friendofGod2 All of this is wrong lmfao Because they said women found him doesn’t make it more or less likely hahahah what the fuck logic is this? There isn’t good reason to beleive he actually got his own tomb, so not finding bones is not big deal 0 prophecies were fulfilled by jesus

I’m certain this person has received many pieces of evidence. For example: - Women were the first to see Jesus rise from the grave, which points to the Gospel not being made up. - No bones of Jesus found - 300 OT prophecies fulfilled by Jesus (where He was born being huge) - 5 women mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1, which again points to the Gospel not being made up. - oh yeah, the Word of God Of course, HQM does make a point and that is that we have not been able to definitively prove God’s existence. He is a mysterious God and above the knowledge of man; therefore, we rely heavily on faith. What HQM won’t admit to is that her belief system also relies heavily on faith. Sure, she’ll tell you, “But we have evolution and common ancestry that proves we were not created by God.” Then, you ask her where did it all begin and where is the proof that some scientific phenomenon started life here on Earth and she’ll respond with, “But we have evolution and common ancestry…” Look, micro evolution is a thing and it is possible that God had a part in this process. However, it is not proof that life began solely under scientific circumstances. It is, however, proof that atheists rely on faith just as much, if not more, than Christians.

@Orthodavec My guy, you seem to have missed it so let me spell it out for you: What I described is what you are doing with “Jesus loves you.” You have no verse. I never claimed we have to preach verbatim what the apostles did.

your god can’t elevate its creations to its status, it’s a slave to being good with no choice to do otherwise, and condemns its creations to hell purely for its own hubris while elevating others to heaven to satisfy its narcissistic needs. it’s really easy to think of better
Brian Holdsworth@briankeepsworth

If I can conceive of something greater than your God, then he isn’t God. In the case of Mormonism, I can definitely conceive of something greater than their definition of God. 📽️ Watch Below👇
