Presidio County in Texas' Big Bend has an annual budget of $4 million. They can't keep a hospital open. Cost of one mile of border wall: $17 million. Cost of the federal contract DHS just issued for border walls in the county: $1.2 billion. All while nobody is crossing here.

Do not lose hope. This fight is not over. We should all be so proud of the coalition we built to fight this. Tribal Nations. Outdoorsmen. Conservationists. Public lands advocates. But most importantly, Minnesotans who deeply appreciate what these waters mean to all of us and our shared obligation to safeguard them for our kids, our grandkids, and every generation thereafter. One day, the shoe will be on the other foot, and they will regret what they did to the Boundary Waters today — because this was a mistake. They’ve set a new precedent that no public lands are ever truly safe, including those in Montana. Utah. The Dakotas. Idaho. Republicans privately told me they knew this is wrong, and I wish they had voted their conscience.   Tonight, we take a much-needed rest. Tomorrow, we figure out what comes next.   Save the Boundary Waters.

🚨 The Senate passed H.J. Res. 140, gutting Boundary Waters protections. This sets a dangerous precedent for public lands nationwide. We’re not done fighting. There are still paths to stop this mine. We'll keep you posted today about what this means and how you can get involved.

The Trump Administration is working every single day to protect American agriculture from our foreign adversaries, including increased scrutiny of foreign owned farmland because this is a clear national security threat.
