my brother is getting married next month, my fiance, my 3 yr old and i are in the wedding. my daughter and two younger nieces (6&9) are flower girls. we just got our formal invitation to their wedding, a little over a week ago. at the bottom it says no kids under 14 allowed at the reception, i was completely unaware of this, so my fiance confirmed with my brother that it includes my daughter in nieces aswell even tho they’re in the wedding. idk if im just overreacting but

@Her_Nonymous_D Your daughter is a legal adult. If she got locked out, she can call her roommate to ask for help or go sit at another friends house for a bit. If she cannot do either she is not a functional adult and you should have put more effort into raising her.

Parents, I need real opinions on this because I’m genuinely torn. Imagine your daughter is away at college, living in a shared dorm. One day she steps out of her room and accidentally leaves her key inside. It happens. She’s not being reckless, just human. While she’s out, her roommate comes back, drops her things off, and then leaves again… but locks the door behind her. Now your daughter is stuck outside, locked out of her own room, probably stressed, maybe embarrassed, trying to figure out what to do next. So here’s the question, who do you even get upset with in that situation? On one hand, your daughter forgot her key. That’s on her. It’s one of those small mistakes that turns into a big inconvenience, and part of growing up is learning to double-check things like that. But on the other hand, the roommate knew it was a shared space. Would it have hurt to at least check if…

I just had a mansplaining so epic it will never be topped. I just had a man ask me why I chose to be a widow. I said "I'm sorry, but that's not something you choose." He said "You just need to open your heart and let someone love you instead of choosing to stay a widow". I said "What do you think widow means exactly?" This man said "A widow is when a woman gives up on dating and stays alone for the rest of her life." I said "That is not what that means". HE SAID...
