The Basecamp CLI is here. Plus a much improved and expanded API. This is all available today, in Basecamp 4, and sets the stage for a major upgrade to Basecamp 5 which we're finishing up now. We've got agents working alongside us today in Basecamp, and now you can as well.
DHH@dhh

Basecamp is now fully agent accessible with a brand-new and comprehensive CLI, wrapped by a great skill, and backed by a revamped and much expanded API. It's a fantastic way to give your agents access to everything in Basecamp and integrate it anywhere. basecamp.com/agents

Today, Sierra is releasing Ghostwriter, our agent for building agents. With Ghostwriter, you can create an AI agent for your customer experience — one that can chat, pick up the phone, speak dozens of languages, take action on your systems of record, and be protected with industry-leading guardrails — simply by having a conversation. No clicking, no forms, no menus. Codex and Claude Code have transformed how we build software, making it possible for software engineers to orchestrate and review the work rather than doing all the work themselves. We think the same transformation will happen for all software. Rather than every enterprise app having a web app for humans and an API for automation, every software platform’s UI will be an agent that can do the work on your behalf. I recorded a demo of my building and optimizing an agent with Ghostwriter so you can see how powerful and easy it is to use. It’s completely changed the way our early adopters build agents, and it’s changed the way I think about the software industry. Let me know what you think, and, if you’re interested in trying it out at your business, please reach out directly.

I'm about 7 phone calls into a dispute between a health insurance plan and a provider network known for less-than-great billing practices. I guess it's time for the first run of my Medical Claims Escalation Eval* (* This is a bit tongue in cheek but also a bit serious!)

Thank you for the vertical tabs @googlechrome. Long time coming, and it's great. Now, please ship a keyboard shortcut to expand and collapse the side pane! 🙏

Can’t wait to see how @benthompson weaves together Block’s layoffs, Anthropic’s standoff, and OpenAI’s round into Monday’s post. The raw materials for next week’s content came fast and furious at the week’s end.

i've been using Chrome Canary as my browser for the last week with its side tabs... it's great. Only thing I miss from Dia is pinned bookmarks at the top of the sidebar. was also constantly annoyed by Dia when the dev tools inspector would randomly not re-open unless you closed and reopened the tab to set it up: - download chrome canary - go to chrome://flags and enable "Vertical Tabs" then relaunch - go to chrome://settings/appearance and change "Tab stripe position" to "Side"

I know that pairing @claudeai (Code) and @obsdmd is the new hotness, but don't underestimate pairing Claude Code and @culturedcode (Things). They work together magically.

Is there an easy way to connect my Apple Health / Fitbit data to Claude or AI project? Maybe via a MCP?

@WillManidis In Devon we trust. The experience of sanding and staining these was very satisfying. Makes listening to them even more meaningful.

lots of DMs asking how to get started with using your hands. there are dozens of daily objects where the best version of that thing is only assessable via a few hours of research and a kit. buy the kit, anon. build the thing. ojas speaker build

the reason you feel insane is because all of your "hobbies" are nothing more than glorified consumption. you won't find God in $15k a month of skis, camera gear, or coffee machines. you NEED to create something, just go BUILD, a chair, a bench, carve some wood, anything, please

Hey, look at what just showed up in ChatGPT this morning. A Basecamp connector! Now you can ask ChatGPT some Q’s about your work in Basecamp. Special thanks to the folks at @OpenAI and ChatGPT for making this happen.

Actions like this are only going to accelerate consumer adoption of AI in healthcare decision making. If we can’t trust experts to be unbiased and apolitical in their decision making, we’re going to need to look elsewhere for medical guidance. nytimes.com/2025/09/19/hea…

Okay using Claude Code as a general purpose agent for non-coding purposes — an agent that can "grow its own appendages" / code up capabilities it needs to move the work forward — is my first genuine "feeling the AGI" moment. Honestly, I'm aghast at the capability overhang...
