Very demure, very mindful #YouTube has become the first streaming platform to exceed 10% of TV watch time according to @nielsen As a publisher what is your strategy to leverage this? OR, do you have a plan in place?

YouTube’s e-commerce push is part of a bigger plan. The platform has seen a slowdown in digital advertising. To keep growing, YouTube is focusing on shopping-related content, inspired by the success of TikTok shop.

Their expanded partnership with Shopify will give channels access to thousands of new brands, allowing channels to drive platform native revenue by tagging products in their videos. 🗒 YouTube is also launching a Chrome extension.

Best of all YouTube can compete for attention by investing in product, over production. I don’t see their dominance waning anytime soon, which means it still offers huge opportunity for entertainment brands, music, and sports organisations to grow and engage. Any thoughts?

3/A product driven approach: The CEO, @nealmohan has been focusing on launching new creator tools in the last 2 years. From rolling out A/B thumbnail testing to #AI tools, if they find more ways to help creators win with audiences then YouTube wins.

This week, I created an AI-based tool that's been more beneficial to me than anything else I've made so far. First, I created a list of personal SMART goals in a Google Sheet in different areas of my life that I want to improve, for example: Category: Emotional wellbeing SMART Goal: Share my feelings and experiences with a trusted friend or family member at least once a week to build emotional support and gain perspective. Each day, I receive a notification on my phone asking me to log any progress I have made that day in each of my SMART goal categories. At the end of each week and month, I receive an email outlining my progress (or lack thereof) in that period, with ideas and challenges for any categories where I may be falling behind. The report also highlights areas where I have made measurable progress. The tool was built with @Zapier and uses @OpenAI's GPT API. If you want to know how to set this up, drop a comment below.
