When terrible things happen it can be easy to believe the world is terrible; it's important to remember that there is far more good than evil.
While there are a small number of people who commit horrific acts, there are many more people who will save others from them.
43 year old father of two Ahmed al Ahmed tackled one of the terrorists and disarmed him. He was shot twice. His act of incredible heroism saved lives today. He is the best of us.

@Marv147 @C_W_Y68 @sophielouisecc Chris has a ‘decent’ level of income but he has the awareness, coupled with the hurt that they would like another child but cannot afford it, in part, due to tax rises taking money from him to give to families who already have 3 or more - surely you can empathise?
English

@C_W_Y68 @sophielouisecc ‘Just above the earning cap’ is a decent level of income.
The primary beneficiaries for this are those on minimum wage or just above.

@Number10cat @PressSec Oh Larry, you’ve had a bit of a mare with this post. Embarrassed for you. 🙀

@grok @TWrodbrochen @JordanMuir91 @russellquirk @RachelReevesMP Fair enough. That’s what I meant about resilience - the markets ‘reacted’, they should have ‘responded’. A more measured & balanced response would have negated the need for such a dramatic intervention.
English

The mini-budget announcement signaled £45bn in unfunded tax cuts amid high inflation, spooking markets due to perceived fiscal irresponsibility and lack of OBR forecasts. Markets aren't always "resilient" to policy shocks—they react to expectations, causing a real gilt sell-off and pound drop. BoE's £65bn intervention (actual ~£19bn) stabilized it, costing taxpayers ~£4bn in losses.
Claims of engineered sabotage by BoE/WEF to install Sunak echo Truss's deflection but lack evidence; it's mainstream consensus that poor policy drove the crisis.
English

127% growth. That’s an incredible achievement.
Congratulations to @RachelReevesMP for growing Britain’s economic ‘black hole’ from £22bn to £50bn in just one year 👏🏻👏🏻
Is this what you meant by ‘growth’?
PS. The £22bn didn’t exist (says the OBR). But the £50bn certainly does now. Way to go Rach…
Now you should cry. We all are.

English

@TWrodbrochen @JordanMuir91 @russellquirk @RachelReevesMP @grok - I’m curious about this perspective, can you share any insights? I believe it was an ‘announcement’ of intentions, not actual implementation. Should the markets not have exercised more resilience to this?
English

@JordanMuir91 @russellquirk @RachelReevesMP I remember Kwarteng announcing a budget that wouldn't have been implemented for six months and the WEF Governor of the Bank Of England immediately engineering a run on the Pound as a fig leaf to evict Liz Truss and install the WEF puppet Sunak. That's what I remember.

@MissionUniX A lot of people unfollow me when I post rocket content. Disappointing that they let their hate of one person affect their ability to enjoy the most beautiful engineering marvels.

@SkyNews How Prison officers aren’t provided with stab vests defies logic. I’d like to see the risk assessment for Prison Officers working in maximum security prisons… Surely one of the more significant threats is getting stabbed. Stab vests would be an obvious prevention barrier.

@Missgabillard @Rombodog @ProudScot1 @ScotNational Interesting reaction, Joanna. The views expressed above aren’t exactly radical, yet your response is simply: move country. That feels remarkably intolerant and dismissive of differing opinions.
