Advjce for players in Magic tournaments: when you mulligan, don't look at the top card of your library; and when you buy food from the convention center, don't look down when you tap on the credit card terminal. It's already done and looking can only bring you pain.

I've settled on 12 iconic decks from the period, as played by some of their most vocal champions at the time. It skews a little towards the southern US, because so do I. My plan is to build each of these decks (and maybe more!) and keep them together, sort of like a cube.

I started playing Magic in 2008. By summer 2009, I wanted nothing more than to be a pro - but I was hindered by (among some other things) card availability. I was in college and had no income, so the closest I would get was saving up for a Bitterblossom or two for my Rogues deck.

@lsv Thanks, I’ll try that out if I get back in. I have also been having trouble targeting anything on the stack larger than 1 and telling what modes are chosen for multiple mode cards. I practically lose on the spot whenever that comes up and I have an interaction.

Quick 7 wins. Don’t worry about playing all your good cards. Step 1 is to not fall behind and step 2 is to let your 2-1’s take over the game. Good mana is part of that, follow your dual lands. Don’t be down a card you can’t cast or throw yourself off curve due to color issues.

@Smdster @Ajelenbogen I’m trying to figure out the correct framing, but I think it goes something like this: What’s harder to play, the deck with 5 decisions which all cost you 20% chance of winning, or the deck that has 20 decisions and each costs you 5%?
