The work has definitely changed dramatically. The building component is probably maybe 10% of projects, and the other 90% is really on the strategy implementation and change management parts of launching or relaunching Notion workspace. An area that's also becoming a larger part of the scope is implementing custom agents. This is also an area that is not incredibly complicated, but requires a pretty big mental shift for teams to start offloading low-leverage tasks to agents and incorporate them as role players. I'm also building a Notion consulting agent which I'm trying to get to do 100% of what I do today. Not sure if this puts me out of a job at some point, but we'll see! 😅

The more I think about the consulting model, the more I think it's fundamentally broken. Clients look to consultants to solve problems, after they've wreaked havoc on their business for months, or even years. Why not build a solution that avoids the problems altogether?

@RobDockstader Sorry Robert just seeing this now! I still prefer Salesforce consulting / admin work it’s just that Notion has more hype so it’s easier to get clients and make a living as a business owner

If I get to speak at Make with @NotionHQ this year, I'm 100% bringing this energy...

For internal automation situations (not connecting with an external app like stripe). There are still a ton of automation features that need to be released to support automation that I’ve built in enterprise software like Salesforce in the past. I have some super complex ones going for my clients right now in Make but it makes me nervous because internal automation is always more reliable. Timeouts can definitely be an issue with the Notion API.
