Ok first time mom question: When my baby wakes up. She just lays there quitely cooing and playing with her own hands.
I've started just letting her chill in there on her own until she cries out for me.
But today its been like 20 minutes. Do I just... let her be?
(I can see and hear her on the monitor obviously)
Open floor plans suck. More specifically floor plans that have the kitchen open to the rest of the house.
Kitchens can be one of the messiest places in a house. While you're cooking you got a lot going on and now also you have this pressure to have the kitchen be all aesthetic and shit.
The kitchen, for me, is a utilitarian space. It is not a cute place. I like being able to close the door and not see the dishes.
@bex71861690@Mangan150 I do just the opposite. I hit the store mindful of were I am and what I am doing. I don't block aisles or doorways. I move rather quickly and work from my list. Ours grocery store has scan and pay so I load my groceries as I go and checkout in minutes.
On the road and out to breakfast: older man next to me, mid to late 70s, in decent shape, orders eggs and sausage.
For his wife, who looked spaced out and demented and presumably not capable of ordering for herself, he orders waffles.
Tragic, probably repeated by the millions in the U.S.
@Mangan150 My wife was wondering if the listlessness with those 65+ is the result of decades of statins and blood pressure medications? I'm 70+ and noticed even those younger than me shuffle around the market and seem in a daze.
A hotel restaurant in Beverly Hills charges $110 to cut a cake
Yes, this is real
I researched and found the location is Poza, it’s a rooftop restaurant L’Ermitage Beverly Hills
Here’s the recipe for proof. The $110 really is just to cut the cake. A friend brought the cake for her and they just asked the restaurant to cut it
Prices in Los Angeles are out of control but this is just being ridiculous
@WallStreetApes If you let them bring their own cake, you have to store it, cut it, serve it, do the dishes, give people takeout containers for leftovers, and none of the people at the table will buy dessert. Depending on how much they charge for dessert the restaurant might still lose money
@TheEXECUTlONER_ You gotta get a guy to come out regularly all season. You can't wait 2 months and then when it's this bad try to get a lowball quote. The mow guy probably just has other customers and it's not in his interest to do it cheap one time
This man called this lawn service company to mow his yard front and back and weed eat it.
Looks like the yard hasn’t been mowed or maintained in quite awhile. 💯
The lawn service guy quotes him $200. The man doesn’t seem pleased and thinks that’s high. 🤯
The lawn service guy tells him to maybe call around and see if he can get a cheaper quote.
Not sure what rate that man was expecting.
Do you think $200 is too high for all that? So you think it is too low for that? What do you think is a fair price would be?
Shania Twain looks like an Asian robot and I would have never guessed this was her without a caption telling me.
No comment on the dress and gloves. Ok, I don’t like it.
@MarkClark321@TheEXECUTlONER_@V_Lady2024 It's a relief to no longer get attention, trust me. It's shocking how many men don't understand that this makes women uncomfortable to be hollered at by a group of men.
This UPS Delivery woman has a gripe.
She was delivering near a construction zone.
As you can probably guess, she gets out of the truck and the construction men nearby start hooting and hollering. One guy yells “Hey UPS! Hey Beautiful!” And another guy yells “Hey UPS, I have a package over here!” 🙄
She says it happens all the time.
Someone said she should have yelled back “Call USPS, they specialize in small packages!”😂
Others said she should be grateful for the compliments, respect the hustle and stop griping.
Do you think it’s part of the job and being attractive? Is it okay? Has this ever happened to you while you were working? No harm no foul? Or, do you think those men are way out of line and need to grow up?
@TheEXECUTlONER_ They don't say it for you. They say it for the other guys. It's primal male bonding behavior. It puts you in a momentary higher status bracket among peers. We all do it starting very young. It's showing off in front of your friends.
@TheEXECUTlONER_@Thevictoria76 Yeah. People don’t do that cat calling anymore. She’s an absolute liar. I’ve been around construction sites for 30 years. Not once have I heard anyone yell out loud.
I think she just wishes they were calling to her.
@TheEXECUTlONER_ I've said tis before, I enjoy being older and chubbier and basically invisible to this kind of attention. It happened to me all the time when I was younger and lived in Pittsburgh and it sucked
@TheEXECUTlONER_@V_Lady2024 Oh, it's so terrible, I am beautiful and the men won't stop the catcalls.
Just stop doing your makeup, let your hair go, and don't smile at them...look all frumpy instead. They'll stop real quick. Betcha the next day you'll be looking all glam again and enjoying the catcalls.
Americans walk into Krispy Kreme donuts and buy a dozen donuts for themselves
This needs to be stopped so people should he aware of the health and ingredient concerns with Krispy Kreme
- They are considered “Ultra Processed”
- Each glazed donut is 20% sugar by weight
- Each donut is 190 calories, 11g total fat, 5g saturated
An Original Glazed donut ingredients include: Enriched wheat flour, palm/soybean oils, sugar, water, yeast, soy flour, egg yolks, multiple dough conditioners including mono- and diglycerides, cellulose gum, maltodextrin), preservatives and natural and artificial flavors
Horrible ingredients:
- Enriched and Refined Flour: Bleached and stripped of fiber and nutrients with concerns about alloxan (a byproduct in processing)
- Seed Oils & Palm Oil: Fried in blends that critics call “rancid” or inflammatory
- Artificial Colors/Flavors & Additives: In flavored varieties, Red 40, gums and phosphates
- They include genetically modified derived ingredients
- Preservatives and emulsifiers are used to extend shelf life but fuel “doesn’t decompose” (The donuts do not break down because of this)
It’s been a tough week and am very exhausted from work.
My main goal today will be to get Rocky a big treat. I’m thinking a steak 🥩. Open to suggestions!
Rocky says he hopes you can all have a lovely weekend.
🇺🇸 Blocking the highway to wait out a hailstorm seems more dangerous than just driving through it…
Also, aren’t people in Texas supposed to be tough? 😂
