@Rssaill So this environment in and of itself is completely unsuitable for a cat, its a tiny, messy studio. No cat can live in a 30sqm space for any period and not suffer mental health issues. People without the space for pets need to stop getting them. Chronic under stimulation

@vrexec People take the careers they feel passionate about, and get this, many enjoy them regardless if its working for a company. Not everybody wants to do any of the things you suggested at all. Living in a camper van sounds like a dream to some and torture to many.

I ask this question from time to time and it’s not one of those judgmental “why are you not having kids” posts. I could not care less if someone decides to have kids or not, or their reasons.
What I genuinely don’t understand is… if you’ve decided not to have children… why are you working a traditional career? Why are you interacting with a computer all day? Why do you care at all about how much money you make? It literally makes no sense.
There are only a few tiny exceptions… like you’re a caregiver for a family member or you have significant health issues.
Go join the Peace Corps or the military. Go volunteer somewhere in the world. Become an EMT or a paramedic or a firefighter or a police officer.
Go find a shack in the woods somewhere and write fiction for five straight years and don’t talk to anyone.
Literally walk across the country. Bike around the world. Move to Greece and work on a boat ferrying tourists around the islands. Go to Switzerland and become a mountain guide. Dedicate yourself to fitness and adventure. Literally anything.
You have this incredible gift of a life with no dependents. Why are you still career coded and money coded?
One of the great mysteries of our time.

I love spending weekends alone. No plans. No people. No performance. No pressure to be “on.” Just me, in my own little cozy world. Quiet coffee in the morning. Watching the sunrise. Longs walks. Reading Tolstoy. Meditating. A little music. A little staring at the walls. Cooking something slow. Watching films. Sitting in silence, thinking about life and all. To some people, that sounds boring. To me, it feels like peace. And honestly, I never regret a weekend that brings me back to myself.

@EpicClipVault We are skin and bone to them, not food, they like big juicy shark livers and meaty seals, they might wonder if we’re also poisonous, we must look odd to them generally

@holisticgrenade Ever seen a cat slowly die of Calici virus? Or rabies? No? You can thank vaccines.
English

@DrewMiner2 @KristiLeighTV I have all mine, never inpacted, never caused an issue, removing them “just because” is a very American oddity.
English

@KristiLeighTV Kristi, as a dentist who still has all 4 of my wisdom teeth, I will tell you that most do need to be removed. Since processed foods and a soft diet became the norm, our jaws and teeth have not developed the same. Most people these days (not all!) need these removed.

@pati_marins64 Bad actors can do a lot of harm anywhere if enabled unfortunately, I don’t think anyone thinks the risk is directly from the middle east

Why California and not the East Coast?
What is there in California that justifies this alert from a federal agency?
Why would Iran cross the entire Indian Ocean, pass through the Strait of Malacca, and then traverse the whole Pacific Ocean just to launch half a dozen drones at California?
What is this alert actually based on?

@Moonlight_myths I moved apartments due to this exact reason, only it wasn’t just crying it was the dropping of toys on wooden floor during the nights as well, the other side of my bedroom wall. Lovely couple too but the only way I was going to get any sleep was to move.
English

If your neighbour has a baby, and it cries ALL NIGHT, and it's room-is directly next to yours divided by a wall, is it okay to ask them to move the baby to another room?
My alarm goes off at 5am. This baby cries until 2, 3am most nights. I am exhausted. I am ill. I am childless by choice and I DO NOT need this.
I understand the mother is tired.
But you know what? This was not my choice. I'm experiencing the consequences of her choice and I am no longer understanding of it.

@KateBMwriting @BbbrooksKelly Nope, because people who have done hundreds of applications are usually getting rejected by scraping tools that only look for certain keywords. Most large companies use such tools. They do not even parse letters. Again, keep up. You seem to be the one lacking knowledge here.
English

@bexpoddy @BbbrooksKelly Objectively speaking, is the time of candidates better spent sending 1000 applications that are ignored than writing 10 that might stand out?
English

@KateBMwriting @BbbrooksKelly Wrong, you are living in the past, as thousands here are trying to tell you, learn new tools yourself and keep up
English

@BbbrooksKelly Young people who have recently finished university and have no experience beyond a Saturday job in a garden centre would never get a job on that basis.
