10. When dealing with Figma files you often have to go through layers list. It can be a hassle to find items, in a list of layers. While some people may not find it bothersome to scroll through a layer structure I would find it helpful to have an easy 'Collapse All' button, for smoother navigation.

Recently @figma introduced UI3 and new AI features. From my observations, newcomers seem excited by these changes, while seasoned designers feel Figma may have missed the mark. I'm from the second category. Here are 10 features that I've been waiting for a long time and that will REALLY help me work more efficiently. Thread 👇

@a1exborsuk For this one you can actually create saved titled versions in the version history. It’s of a full file save but it can work right now.

05. My particular pain. I need to store screen states as different versions. What do I do now? I create a copy of the artboard, do a detach all components, detach all library styles. Give me the ability to "freeze" the current state as a version of the artboard and stop my agony.

@rogie @_joelmllr @kellaywho Maybe not having to go from one end of the screen to the other to choose a frame size. Why not open the quick actions or even give you a more contextual menu closer to the tool.

@gavinmcfarland @robr0 Exactly. That’s also why it’s still in Beta. I can imagine a few different things happening to this UI by the end of the Beta with all customer feedback like yours ☺️

@bfigas_ @robr0 With such big changes including both new functionality and a new UI, it can be hard for people to see the value. It will take time to truly tell what value customers gained the most.

Been using Figma's new UI for a month. Here are 4 features I miss from the old version. Looking forward to improvements during the beta! (old: left, new: right) 1. Rulers required less cognitive effort to place because they were right next to the content.

@robr0 @gavinmcfarland I tend to disagree. A lot of the core features like Auto-Layout, Components and overall design properties highlight benefit from these updates. There is a lot more consistency. It’s still far from perfect but it really feels intentionally designed.
