I need to introduce the Iranians to the concept of marginal utility but in reverse.
Let's say I have 10 units of something. My enemy has 100 units.
If he destroys 1 unit of mine and I respond by destroying 2 units of his, I'm still losing. Why? Repeat the process to see:
I will have 0 units.
He will have 80 units, still 80% of what they started with.

Russia has fairly successfully weathered the SMO storm economically, geopolitically and domestically. The long term attrition strategy will eventually allow the Russians to win out but Russia is failing in its deterrence of strikes on its territory and the potential of a ballistic armed Ukraine capable of reaching Moscow. I do not understand the rationale behind avoiding assassination strikes or targeting key infrastructure points which could devastate the Ukrainian war effort.
It reminds me of a parent of an insolent child who has little to no ability of controlling said kid. The screaming, kicking and spitting is dealt with by a calm “we don’t do that sweetie” instead of a swift smack.
Oil is up and the U.S. has changed the global dynamic. If Russia is providing targeting data to the Iranians that would at least be reciprocal retaliation but I personally believe, from an analytical position, that now is the moment for all nations at odds with the U.S. to push the envelope and put immense pressure on the belligerent hegemony.
In Ukraine it would be simple and yet there seems to be a political withholding that will allow for significant damages in the future. I guess the Russians are waiting for the Ukrainians to kill somebody really important before they start targeting key Ukrainians themselves.

Отпадането на печатите е следващата стъпка за нулева бюрокрация. "Без печат не може", "тук трябва червен печат", "отидете до деловодството за печат" и "не мога да ви го приема без печат" са само част от репликите, които чуваме от администрацията на всички нива. Преди години, по времето на COVID, обикалях София за два броя печати - кръгъл и квадаратен - за медицински изследвания. Това трябва да спре. И имаме готов и внесен законопроект за целта. Забрана за печатите - не са нужни такива, защото авторство се удостоверява с подпис - по възможност електронен - на издаващия документа. Но остават въпросите за някои професионални печати и специални производства. Конкретно - при инвестиционното проектиране и при нотариалните производства. За целта имаме подготвени изменения в Закона за устройство на територията, за изцяло електронен процес по инвестиционно проектиране (и устройствено планиране), така че да няма повече колички с кашони с хартии, и шарени печати по тях. Той беше отхвърлен в този и в предния парламент, но рано или късно трябва това да бъде поправено. Имаме и изготвени изменения в Гражданския процесуален кодекс, където да се въведе възможност (а не задължение) за нотариални производства в изцяло електронна форма - вкл. онлайн нотариални прозиводства. One of the most impressive things happening in El Salvador right now is that they are literally renovating or building two new schools EVERY SINGLE DAY. Bukele launched this last year, and the results are astonishing. They've done 624 schools so far, and there's a site to monitor progress for each school. Many of the workers are non-violent criminals who once terrorized the same communities. Now they work to repay their debt & earn some time off their sentence.

I'm floored that the US is continuing to sortie out of Prince Sultan, and expected the base to be steadily evacuated after the first strike damaged or destroyed five KC-135s in the second week of the war. Instead, the USAF has continued to operate out of the base and take major losses in both aircraft and personnel. This tells us that the base's proximity to Iran makes it so essential for maintaining sortie rates that US planners had no choice but to accept the risk.
