someone should start this business:
private movie theaters for rent
the UX for movie theaters is eh because i have to sit next to a bunch of strangers
i would honestly pay good money to do movie nights with my friends in a well put together cozy setting with theater quality screen
and best part is you get to select what’s playing and you can rewatch any of your favorite movies

ERROR: Fans call out Return of the Jedi blunder during scene where Leia says she remembers her mother, despite Padme clearly dying in Revenge of the Sith while Leia is barely a minute or two old.
Should ROTJ be forgiven for this obvious continuity error or does it disqualify Episode VI from being considered canon?

@Joeporterrr @richard_normal Because that was probably the first time they used clones, they probably used droids in previous wars so it wasn’t noticeable
English

@richard_normal Why were they called the “clone wars” and not like the separatists wars or something?
The side that won simply acquired a clone army and then discontinued that army later. It’d be like if America called WW2 the soldier wars or the tank wars
English

a separate funny star wars cannon thing is that i find it extremely weird that the prequels take all that time setting up the clone troopers, who look like storm troopers, but then the storm troopers in the original/sequel trilogies arent clones. theyre just normal guys.

it’s a good bit that instead of just making a boba fett show, disney made a show about a new guy who is exactly like boba fett and gave him a show. then they also made a boba fett show. and that show crossed over with the show with the new guy. it’s just good brand strategy.

This is essentially similar to the sharks evolution reaching an effective plateau. If a model is built towards a specific limited domain and is essentially solved such that there is no need for changing the weights, you can move it to a hardcoded chip.
This strategy would seem to be ideal for autonomous navigation systems, if not already being done by composing a system with dedicated chips with separation of concerns.

@dumdumfucktard @FT Look at the OpenAI court case for your answer
English

@FT Why would spacex ever wanna fire musk? That would be stupid af.
English

SpaceX is intending to guarantee Elon Musk cannot be fired and offering a trillion-dollar pay deal linked to building a colony on Mars. ft.trib.al/byv6y9T

🚨Nvidia’s hardware monopoly just took its first massive blow.
A wild new semiconductor giant called Cerebras Systems just IPO’d stock priced at $185, opened near $350, hit $385 intraday, and closed ~68% higher at $311.
Market cap now ~$95–100 Billion.
They aren’t building standard microchips.
They’re manufacturing singular “Monster Wafers” dinner-plate-sized chips that can train and run AI models at speeds we’ve never seen.
Here’s what this hardware does better than anything on earth:
Right now, building massive AI clusters means wiring tens of thousands of individual Nvidia GPUs together.
The problem? Communication lag.
Data constantly travels between chips over cables, wasting huge power and time just moving bits around.
Cerebras completely bypassed this with the Wafer-Scale Engine (WSE-3).
