This is a compelling read. A bit naive in parts but nonetheless fascinating. And its a massively important conversation. Having been part of PA’s sports betting and igaming law in 2017, I have some regrets, no doubt. And the wild west of gambling options now makes me cringe.

I stayed at a @Staybridge in Pittsburgh area last week to find the hotel had unregulated gaming machines in the lobby. As an @IHGOneRewards member…this was infuriating. Can we do better, please? I wonder how @IHGCorporate feels about this?

@AlexiLalas Reporting news factually w/out bias is not “losing their way.” NPR & PBS are the last bastion of factual news/programming. It was not “bought” by left or right leaning mega-wealthy folks. That keeps it outside of the influence of the mega rich. I think folks should celebrate it.

I don't live in a rural area. But is it true, in this age of advanced technology, communication, and connection, that rural areas in America rely on NPR/PBS for their news and information?

@AlexiLalas The argument is the same as always...a place to get news to rural areas, etc. It's legit. That being said, they've lost their way over the years. Still think the cut is bad in the long term...NPR/PBS should have corrected their output.

@StephenJ_Caruso Gaming in PA has historically been a bipartisan endeavor…from 2004 and 2010 to 2017 and now in 2025. We have never expanded gaming without a 5-party deal. Especially when the overall revenue numbers from the gaming activity being regulated are in the billions of dollars.

That's two GOP senators who now publicly say they'd be a no on a skill game deal that echoes the Senate GOP leaderships' proposed language. That's enough to block a skill game bill absent gaining Democratic votes.

This is why ALL gaming should be subject to the same regulatory standards. Imagine an entire gaming product and scheme with zero regulation, checks, or balances to ensure fairness and root out bad actors. 👀 I mean…thats crazy, right? Right? 🤷♂️
