
I used to would probably argue with that but at this point I also believe linux is too disjointed for desktop usage for average users. It's a nice thing how customizable it is but it's the age old problem of hundreds of different people having hundreds of different philosophies in design leads to problems. Windows has standardization. Most users struggle with standardized environments let alone environments that are wildly varied. I wouldn't say it would never be mainstream but it definitely won't be entirely foss if it's linux based (something like a chrome OS)
