I do think an amount of the stuff actual hockey fans get annoyed about is counter intuitive to non sport fans - I never would've thought to Google what teams can play in the finals because I would just assume any teams can make it there

(1/8) Belle Burden’s “Strangers: A Memoir of Marriage” tells the story of her divorce and resulting financial imperilment. It’s the runaway publishing phenomenon of the year. But what does it omit? 🧵 newyorkermag.visitlink.me/MkMGTt

Every midterm a seat or 2 flips (or is extremely competitive) that no one even thought was going to be in play. What are some picks?

@CarolinaLion2 We have tv ads and in some cases the actual paper ads from that time period. We have pictures, and yes video, from that period. Why are they trying to revise history like this?

Fun fact: It is typically illegal to sell a puppy younger than 8 weeks old because it’s considered cruel to separate it from its mother, but unfortunately corporate America expects women to return to work 4 weeks after giving birth.

NEW: @Jim_Banks and @ToddRokitaIN are rescinding their endorsements of @cdiegomorales and are urging him to suspend his campaign for Secretary of State.

Yes. Soda was a luxury until the mid-2000s. It was something you'd have for family movie night on Fridays and birthdays. Prior to the ~90s, it was even more rare. Drinking soda with every meal wasn't normal until fairly recently. It is a small luxury but a luxury.

@HammerAndRails Did they sing Hail Purdue?

This mother said all she got for Mother’s Day was Happy Mother’s Day texts from her 18 and 20 year old kids. So she said she is going to match their energy and when it comes time she is just going to text them Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday this year and that’s it. She said she’s not complaining and loves them to death but she is ready to meet them where they are at now in their life. She said she is sick of going above and beyond for them and basically getting nothing in return. So no more whatever they want gifts, no more money, etc. Sounds a little bit to me like complaining. 🤷♂️ What do you think? Do you think she’s right in handling it this way? Do you think that’s a fair way to handle it? Or do you think she’s overreacting and they are just typical young adults? Do you do things for your kids expecting the same in return?
