@AnthonyLaPanta Yes everyone knows the Avs are a good team. Falling back on that excuse let's the Wild off the hook. Something about THEIR gameplay changed after period 1, and that's why they lost. The third best team should not be looking the way they did in period 2-4 against the any team

I don’t know if I’d say the Wild “sat back”, but the ice tilted against them for sure. I think it was more the Avs ramping it up - like they did in game four - than the Wild sitting back. The Wild were a minute away from escaping the period and the game - and forcing game six - but a great player made a great shot and made them pay for the mistakes you mention. Numbers are hard to dispute in 2nd and 3rd 3rd period alone: Attempts: 29-12 Avs Shots: 9-4 Avs X Goals: 83% Avs The Avs were just better. Wild were good enough to beat them when at full strength and at the top of their game - but the Avs were better over the course of the game and the series.
