If I was Trump (this is me thinking out loud), I would have imported all the shit I would need for manufacturing before I started a tariff war. Machinery, sheet metal, engineers, product managers, etc. Stock pile aluminum, rare earth metals and create strategic reserves. Then… go nuts. Now, even if I wanted to, where am I going to get all the shit I need to start manufacturing.
