She turned around to thank the stranger who walked her home through that dark&dangerous alley. He wasn't there. She ceased being an atheist.

Spirit of cricket was dead long before even our parents were born. Bodyline being the worst case scenario! Imagine asking to aim at someone's head to stop them from scoring (read breathing)!
ValenceCricket@CricketValence

The day the spirit of cricket died.💔 Sehwag was on 99*, India needed 1 run to win, and Randiv bowled a deliberate, massive no-ball to deny him a century. India won the match, but the game lost its soul. Unsportsmanlike at its peak.🤯

Mohamed Salah is lambasted for not speaking enough, then when he does, is slammed for not doing it at the time and in the manner his critics demand. He is not a performing monkey. He has given absolutely everything he could to the game - and for just shy of a decade, to Liverpool. Why is his love for the club always questioned? Why can’t he speak as a fan of Liverpool, which he is? Salah FC or Misperception FC? substack.com/home/post/p-19…

We will beat Afghanistan (hopefully), and we will conveniently forget about Aquib Nabi's unfair exclusion. The PR machinery will be active to praise how this management has won us trophies.
Cricketwallah@cricketwallah

Aquib Nabi not finding a place in Test squad flabbergasting. Best pacr bowler in Ranji Trophy over past couple of seasons. Surprised that selection panel headed by Ajit Agarkar, who knows more about pace bowling than most in the country, has ignored him

Have been saying this for long. Customer service in India over the last 3-4 years is no longer a 'service'. It feels like a hostage negotiation, more so after automation and AI Chat bots have taken over. It ain't just amazon. It's across the board.
Amit Tandon@amitandon

This is how @amazonIN tortures you for return or exchange! If you are buying something expensive, just go to an electronics store

Journalism is a Western construct. It has no place in Indian society, which is rooted in the ancient values of obedience and respect towards one's social superiors, particularly authorities and the government. Questioning respected leaders is a hallmark of the degenerate West. In any case, the masterful responses given by the MEA officer in the Oslo Press Conference,in accordance with the time honoured diplomatic principle of Bharat Answers Questions With A Smile (BAQWAS), put the journalists in their place.

Is this specific to India customer care or is it a global thing? I have been noticing recently how the customer care in India has gone bonkers. Very little care or support, and whole lot of treatment like third class citizens!

🚨 WARNING for all Pixel owners in India. 🚨 My Pixel device was sent to official Google repair. After inspection, Google declared it “not repairable” and gave me only 2 choices: 1️⃣ Pay ₹22,620 for a replacement device 2️⃣ Get the phone returned unrepaired Now comes the shocking part. Before taking ₹22k+, Google India REFUSES to disclose: ❌ Which exact device they will send ❌ Whether it’s NEW or REFURBISHED ❌ Battery health details ❌ Water Resistance Rating ❌ Replacement quality standards ❌ Google cannot guarantee battery health percentage ❌ Google cannot guarantee IP/water resistance rating And in writing, Google Support confirmed: ⚠️ Once payment is made, there is NO refund and NO return — even if you are unhappy with the replacement device quality sent later. Most shocking part? Google could not even confirm whether they have any minimum measurable quality standards/policies for refurbished replacement devices: Battery health % Water resistance integrity like IP rating So basically: Pay first. Find out later what device you got. No refund. No choice. Without transparency, measurable quality benchmarks or refund rights. This is not premium after-sales support. This is “trust us after payment.” Attaching screenshots of Google Support’s own email response. Indian Pixel buyers deserve transparency before payment, not blind acceptance. @GoogleIndia @madebygoogle #GooglePixel #PixelIndia #Pixel6 #GoogleIndia #ConsumerRights #RightToRepair #MadeByGoogle #TechTwitter #Android #Smartphones

🚨 FASTag has a MASSIVE security loophole & nobody is talking about it. Today, literally anyone with access to your car & RC can get a NEW FASTag issued on your vehicle in THEIR name & mobile number. No OTP. No owner authorization. No consent from the actual vehicle owner. The moment that happens? Your existing FASTag gets blacklisted/deactivated instantly under the “One Vehicle One FASTag” policy. That’s exactly what happened to me. I’m currently transporting my car from Mumbai to Delhi & handed over the vehicle to the transporter’s driver on Saturday. He casually asked me if there was balance in the FASTag. Next morning, I received a message from ICICI saying a new FASTag had been activated on my vehicle & my existing FASTag would be deactivated. Within minutes, it was blacklisted/deactivated. Honestly, God knows what the plan even was. Maybe he thought the balance would transfer. Maybe he wanted to misuse it during transit. Maybe something worse. The scary part? The system ALLOWED this without a single authorization from the actual vehicle owner. The NETC FASTag portal was down the entire day. After 4+ hours of calls, ICICI finally told me the new FASTag was issued via Airtel Payments Bank. Later, I checked the Airtel Thanks app & guess what? The FASTag had been registered by the SAME driver who took the car. This is where things become ridiculous. Airtel Payments Bank support told me THEY cannot close the FASTag unless the person who activated it calls them personally. Read that again. The actual vehicle owner has ZERO control over the FASTag - but the person who fraudulently activated it does. The NHAI helpline at 1033 was equally useless. No emergency block. No fraud handling. No owner protection mechanism. So if someone activates a FASTag on your car, you’re basically stranded. How is this acceptable infrastructure for something linked to a vehicle owner’s identity & movement? This is no longer just a scam. It’s a massive security vulnerability in the FASTag ecosystem. NPCI/NETC urgently needs mandatory owner authorization. At the very least, mandate OTP verification from the registered vehicle owner before ANY FASTag change is approved. This needs immediate attention, @NPCI_NPCI @FASTag_NETC. Pathetic support, zero accountability, and absolutely no protection for the actual vehicle owner while someone else fraudulently took control of the FASTag. That should never be possible, @ICICIBank @airtelbank.

Frozen Bottle is losing its bottles (glass jars, in this case) "due to current international situation" (with fighter jets & Cargo ships as background images). Heard that there is also a shortage of aluminium cans for products like Diet Coke.

Why is Delhi suddenly so quiet? During Sheila Dikshit's time, people and the media were relentlessly vocal and held her accountable — even though the Delhi Police was not under her control. They blamed her for issues beyond her authority. So why the silence now? Why aren't the same voices questioning the authority under whose control the Delhi Police actually operates?
Piyush Rai@Benarasiyaa

Nirbhaya rerun: In the national capital, Delhi, a woman was gang-raped inside a moving bus. The woman was returning home on foot from a factory at night when the driver and conductor of a sleeper bus pulled her inside and gang-raped her. Around 2 am, the perpetrators dropped her on the road and fled. The police have arrested the driver and conductor. The woman lives in a shanty with her husband and three daughters. When the police, observing her injuries, asked to admit her to a hospital, she refused, saying, "Who will cook the food at home?"

@deebayleaf In fact, there are folks who may even book an extra room (either in a hotel or guest house) for the driver, if it's an overnight (more than a day's booking) drive.

One of my friends from Kerala told me that if you hire a cab there and visit your relatives, the driver is also invited to dine at the same table as everyone else. Furthermore, this sense of equality extends to restaurants as well. I truly hope this is true; it is beautiful if it is, especially since we see so much classism and mistreatment of drivers, domestic helpers, and other professionals in the rest of India.
