My best friend suffered as Erika did and acted just like Erika. Just because you acted different does not make it the only normal way to act. My friend was upbeat, smiling, laughing, giddy in public to keep her sanity and keep herself from breaking down. She cried herself to sleep at night. We cried, laughed and danced to his favorite songs the day after he was killed and again after his funeral. We laughed at his funeral. That is what he would have wanted and he was with Jesus. Erika is in the public eye. She is doing what she can to fill a fraction of Charlie's shoes and keep what he loved alive. Doing what Charlie loved is keeping him close to her.
