Let’s criticize Mark Pope when he doesn’t get recruits
Then when he gets them, let’s call it a panic move even though he had been targeting this particular kid from the moment the portal opened
I have had my critiques but sometimes you do have to just give the guy a break

Here’s the issue: Almost feels like a panic move to get both Alex Wilkins AND Zoom Diallo. I can promise you, Diallo isn’t going there to play off the ball. He’s not very effective without the ball in general. But if Wilkins isn’t handling the ball, it greatly limits what he’s good at. To me, some of the early portal whiffs led to Kentucky just going in on talent and not worrying about fit, which is a pretty shaky formula.

So Kentucky has just landed one of my favorite players in the portal - Alex Wilkins of Furman.
Averaged 17.8 points and 4.7 assists this season.
Think he fits perfectly alongside Zoom Diallo and gives UK a versatile, multi-year piece.

Definitely a concern. Foot injury as a freshman and only played 14 games. Another foot/lower extremity injury last season and only played 23 games. Given Kentucky’s issues with injured dudes, yeah, notable!
