@markusoff Putting a majority of caucus in cabinet is a caucus control strategy. Alison Redford also tried it in her final months as Premier. Far from representing a shift towards health care etc, this is an indication that Smith is struggling to retain control and prevent more defections.

Danielle Smith now has a 27-member cabinet among 47 MLAs. Take out Speaker and the departing Nate Cooper, and 60% of her caucus is in cabinet. Those poor 18 backbenchers.

Now the picture is much clearer as to why the US was feigning a "breakup" with Netanyahu. The goal was to reach an agreement with all the countries of the Middle East, in order to cement Israel's security while teasing the final blow of completely wiping the Palestinians off the face of the earth.

No one can accuse me of wasting taxpayer dollars! 😌 One neat thing we get to do as MLAs is write notes for guests that the #ableg pages deliver. I’ve had many days in the chamber, but I committed I won’t get new notepads until I use up all the ones from former MLA Brian Mason!

Maybe I should find a new gig as a lighthouse keeper. Grow a beard. Never speak except to give ominous warnings. Watch the waves all day. Yes 🥰

Again. For the crowd at the back. Pay close attention to what is happening. Problems are starting. It won’t end until this gvmt stops entertaining and flirting with the idea. This is one of the firsts we are hearing about. There will be a ton more. #ableg #abpoli

A prediction: In 30 to 40 years time we will see an explosion in cases of Alzheimers and the broader issues of dementia. Why? I recall a time when you would get on a plane, train or bus and people were reading books, magazines and newspapers. They would also engage in conversation with each other. Now people are fixated on their phones. Only they don't properly engage with anything on that device. They are constantly and frantically scrolling at 500mph looking for stimulation and not engaging their brains meaningfully. So after decades of doing this they will suffer cognitive decline leading to an epidemic of Alzheimers and dementia. You can guarantee it is coming.

@jbeggs252 Agreed. I support the CBC, but in the past it has been hard to watch the likes of Don Cherry, Rex Murphy et al get a platform at my expense. Nor can I reconcile public funding to hear from the likes of Andrew Coyne or Rosemary Barton. Give me Ian Hanomansing and straight news.

CBC needs to cancel political opinion shows. Political hacks seek free promotion clips, frequently contain misinformation and outright lies. CBC News should concern itself with facts. Misinformation shouldn't be reported as news. Its should be reported as misinformation.

Danielle Smith is a separatist. She wants Alberta to leave Canada because she simply doesn’t believe in what it means to be Canadian. She is not interested in moving Alberta forward. She only works to tear us—and our country—apart. #ableg #abpoli

Even tho I don’t live in America I so appreciate this guy @RBReich for his unrelenting mission to speak truth with evidence. Only saddened that not enough Americans seem able to act on it. Maybe it will change soon under the sheer weight of harm deliberately and consciously done
Robert Reich@RBReich

Medicaid covers... -40% of births nationwide -50% of kids with special needs -72 million people in total Remember this as Republicans move to gut the program to finance tax cuts that will overwhelmingly go to the richest 1% of Americans.  "Party of family values."

I think people are missing a vital point. Pollievre is making a huge mistake by running in Battle River Crowfoot. He is delivering himself into the hands of the Alberta separatists…./2
Hon. Thomas A. Lukaszuk@LukaszukAB

Indeed. Abandoning a seat, particularly right after an election, shows total disregard for the electorate and for the democratic process. Also, is he really “giving” up the Battle River - Crowfoot seat, or selling it? What has been promised in exchange? #cdnpoli #ableg
