“Mean Street” - Van Halen
Fair Warning: Peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200; certified 2x Platinum in the US, though it was their lowest-selling album of the David Lee Roth era at the time.
@KTrain939913 Van Halen‘s management put in their contract that they were not to be paid less than the highest paid act other than them. David Bowie was offered and accepted 1.5 million which upped Van Halens price. Smart.

@Super70sSports Is this in sunny Southern California? 😂 I think later that night was when Gene Simmons "discovered" them at the Starwood Club in West Hollywood. 😉
Michael McDonald is the GOAT backup vocalist and that’s a hill I’ll die on. He’d come off the bench and hang up triple-doubles on other people’s records. Legendary.
If I've gotta be older to fully appreciate the love of family and friends and the beauty in life - bring it on!
Thanks for all the birthday love !

“A Woman in Love (It’s Not Me)” - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers from their fourth studio album, Hard Promises.
Billboard called it the “most dramatic track” on the album, praising Petty’s emotion-filled vocals and the guitar punch.
“Lonesome Loser” - Little River Band
Peaked at #6 (their third Top 10 hit) on the Billboard Hot 100. Hit: #3 in Canada, #19 in Australia.
It became one of their string of late-’70s US hits alongside tracks like “Lady,” “Reminiscing,” and “Cool Change.”
Foo Fighters released The Colour And The Shape, May 20, 1997. Favorite track?
Track 3 is titled Hey, Johnny Park! but there is absolutely no mention of anyone named Johnny Park in the lyrics. Johnny Park was actually a childhood friend of Dave Grohl. They had completely lost touch over the years, so Grohl named the song after him with a very specific goal: he hoped Johnny would see the album tracklist and call him.
The tactic worked perfectly. Park heard about the song, reached out, and the two old friends finally reconnected.

Smokey and the Bandit turns 49 today. If it weren’t for a space saga from a galaxy far, far away, it would’ve been '77’s biggest hit. Burt Reynolds starred, but Jackie Gleason flat-out steals the movie. Now, gimme a diablo sandwich and a Dr Pepper, ’cause I’m in a goddamn hurry.
