@MattChorley Talking more in terms of the policy agenda than personal ratings (which are surprisingly untethered). And the Tories were a shambles in 2005, Labour won on a massively reduced turnout and those voters only came back in 2017. Anyway, I hope your analysis right for Labour’s sake!

As I’ve been saying for some time, Starmer’s leadership of the Labour party is a Blairite project. It’s not only an ideological opposition the left has to this brand of politics, we also believe it’s doomed to fail electorally even more than it did in 2010. I guess we’ll find out

I voted against the Coronavirus bill last night because it’s now clear this Govt cannot be trusted with our democratic rights. Instead I’ve backed an alternative bill with human & civil rights groups @libertyhq and MPs like @DawnButlerBrent @LaylaMoran

One of the most amazing stories I’ve ever heard was from @IanLaveryMP describing how British miners felt receiving funds illegally clubbed together by South African miners to aid the 1984-5 strike. Such a deeply powerful act that deserves to be far more well known in Britain.

Wary as I am of liberal complacency, I don’t buy that 2020 will be the same as 2016. Not much evidence of late rush to Trump in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc. Even swing state polls would have to be far more wrong than they were in 2016 for Trump to have this.
