@CarlHigbie No problem with profits. Big problem with taxpayers subsidizing those already making big profits by selling our oil overseas while we pay more at the pump. That stinks.

@KariLake Explain why energy company profits (U.S. share of global) are roughly $300B–$500B/year Direct subsidies: are about $30–35B/year. They can make all the profit they can, but why do we pay the price AND subsidize them??

@BuzzPatterson We the taxpayers subsidizing energy companies $10–$15 billion a year—while they make record net profits and we also pay $4.00 at the pump. Makes no sense to me.

The US blockade does a few things. Among them: 1) it forces NATO to get off their ass. They need that gas. 2) US’s oil exports just got a huge bump. UN is strangled and so is Iran.

@SecretaryWright So why are we the taxpayers still subsidizing energy companies $10–$15 billion a year—only for those same companies to sell it at global prices and charge Americans full price at the pump?

President Trump got elected on an energy dominance agenda, and he got elected to represent 342 million Americans, every American in every state—including in California. We don’t care what state you’re from; we want every citizen to have access to affordable energy.

@ogwausa @0ilfieldtrash1 I still don't understand why the taxpayers subsidize companies who are making billions in net profits. We subsidize them, then pay higher prices because they sell on the global market.

@fred_guttenberg @RepNancyMace Why are you lying? He said that if you are a star they will let you grab em by the pussy. That's been true since Elvis concerts. He never said he grabbed anyone.

So @GlennYoungkin is back on Fox, again auditioning for an audience of one — his Dear Leader — by falsely and disingenuously attacking @SpanbergerForVA … breaking a long-standing norm of former governors not attacking their successors. He’s being a sore loser. #Virginia rejected his “legacy” and elected @GovernorVA Spanberger by 15 points. Yet he’ll still show up at the Mansion, if invited, and put on a fake persona for the day. I saw your MAGA instincts when you first ran, Glenn. Sadly, many Virginians did not. But they clearly saw them once you were in office — and they rejected your legacy.

If NO members of the negotiating team stayed behind to seek new inroads, does that mean it was all just for show & would give justification to immediately escalate?

@The_Real_Solyad @ThomBrady5 I'm glad he didn't ask Congress to eliminate Iran's threat to the world or to close the border. He has issued approximately 254 executive orders since taking office. Not bad in my book.

@bob2230 @ThomBrady5 Trump can't do anything without Congress. If you want taxes changed - Congress. If you want spending cut - Congress. If you want subsidies cut - Congress. The only thing Trump can do is jawbone them into reducing prices, but that can only be so effective.

Honestly, didn't think the GOP would see Spanberger as this much of a rising star. But they are dedicating SO much oxygen to lying about her - blaming her for things that she didn't do - that they must be pretty scared, tbqh.

You know well as I do that Congress is pretty much worthless. I would hope President Trump would take a look. Exxon projected net is 30 to 35 billion this year. Not suggesting wind fall tax or any of that socialist crap, just don't understand why they need any taxpayer subsidy.

13 US servicemembers have been killed in a war this man started, thousands more have died in the region, a tense ceasefire …and he’s hanging out at a UFC fight with his secretary of state who should be negotiating for peace right now. Appalling.

All I know is that Trump BEGGED Pakistan to broker a ceasefire, treated negotiations like a slap to their face, and now appears poised to let Hormuz stay closed, violate the ceasefire, escalate the war, and let gas prices continue to rise. He is an unmitigated disaster and it is an abomination that we cannot get rid of him for over TWO MORE YEARS

Did Vance think he was going to solve decades of disputes with Iran in 1 day? He spent 5 days in Feb hanging out at the Winter Olympics. Iran got highest level negotiations with America ever and still controls the Strait of Hormuz, while Vance appears to be giving up. Diplomacy takes enormous planning, technical expertise, and persistent engagement, especially in war time. Our servicemembers in harm's way and Americans struggling with gas prices deserve serious negotiations, not the performance we just saw.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

JD Vance: "The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement. And I think that's bad news for Iran much more than it's bad news for the US. So, we go back to the US having not come to an agreement ... they have chosen not to accept our terms"
