Exclusive: Ministers could push back major shipbuilding programmes and other projects to make £10 billion worth of savings in the Ministry of Defence thetimes.com/article/98990d…

'This would double the risk to the West.' Defence Secretary under Tony Blair, Geoff Hoon, says that sending a British warship to the Strait of Hormuz would leave it as a 'sitting duck'.

This threat by President Trump to impose tariffs on the UK and seven NATO partners because we’ve deployed a single Army Officer to Greenland alongside our allies is wrong. This constant pressure from the US towards Denmark, and now its military allies, is a huge concern. President Trump risks weakening the very foundations of NATO. Thule Air Base used to have c.10,000 US personnel, now (as Pituffik Space Base) it has c.150. If the US assess Greenland to be strategically important to their flank, we should query why they have drawn down personnel by 98%? As an MP with two USAFE bases in his constituency, one of which hosts US European Command’s Joint Intelligence Center, alongside NATO’s, I question the wisdom of the US in adopting such an aggressive stance towards us as allies when we facilitate its eyes and ears across Europe and Africa as well as significant US air assets, vital to US operations in both continents. Keir Starmer must defend Britain’s interests, something he has consistently failed at regarding Diego Garcia and the Chinese super-embassy. This is a critical test for the Prime Minister.

"European leaders are trying to get the US to commit to peace in Ukraine, but Trump's envoys (Kushner and Witkoff) may use the Greenland issue as a bargaining chip in other negotiations. Confusing but very Trumpian. Give us Greenland and it'll be done." double heist!

It took 9 years and 3 billion miles to get this shot. Pluto’s icy Mountains.
