That's a little harsh. There are some very good, even all-time great, albums on the list. Jagga Jasoos, Delhi-6, Jab Harry Met Sejal, Taare Zameen Par, Metro In Dino are personal favourites. There are two sides to this coin. If you say current films lack music-making clarity/confidence, others can say that films of the past did not experiment enough and went with tried and tested formula. I think risk aversion was in some ways the root cause of films of the past going with sure-shot composers/singers, and they were lucky they had many to choose from. Risk aversion also lead present days films to not keep all their eggs in one basket and spread it out among many composers/singers.

Dhurandhar has overshadowed all other film/film music discussions these past few months. One topic of discussion around it was the number of singers used in the film. So I used @myswar data to collate a list of Hindi films that feature 15 singers or more. mavrix.in/2026/05/hindi-…
