It is the Monitoring Officer's decision whether it goes ahead. Nobody else's. Legal decision, not taken by politicians. You know this, so don't lie about it. You can't 'gag democracy' by holding a public debate 🤷 you weren't 'silenced', you refused to take part!

It’s a political choice not to talk about the epidemic of domestic abuse and the sexual abuse of 500,000 children in our country. Michelle. And I certainly wasn’t deflecting, let alone minimising the abuse you have suffered. As you know. Unlike you, I was scrutinising Laila Cunningham, who wants to be Mayor of London (!), about Reform’s policies to stop the boats. Maybe try scrutinising your guests, too, rather than appearing to give Reform a relatively free pass. They are leading in the polls. Hope this helps.

Hi Matt. I ‘shut you down’ because you were not trying to debate, you were trying to deflect. The horrendous domestic abuse we experience in this country has absolutely *nothing* to do with the fact that as a result of political choice; young men are permitted to illegally enter this country en mass from backgrounds/cultures which subjugate women/girls and are then placed freely among our communities. The net result of this political choice is that women/girls are put at *direct increased risk*. This increased risk often results in the attacks we see and hear about regularly (tho I don’t believe we are told the full volume). Attempting to conflate the two issues - as an attempt to avoid and/or dismiss the issue in hand - is a nonsense/insulting deflection which needs robustly calling out each/every time it happens. I will never hesitate to do exactly that. I make no apologies for this. Hope that helps.

The passion was so heartfelt from @MichelleDewbs here it gave me goosebumps. She knows what it is to be in a household of violence as a child and woman. @MatthewStadlen was so patronising, but then he was to me too over covid when he blocked me rather than debate and I knew a bit about that!! These mansplaining men need to step back and listen.

Last year, the future of British Steel was on the line. Scunthorpe’s steel furnaces were hours away from shutting down. I couldn’t let thousands of people lose their jobs. So we saved British Steel. Time and again, people want to write off Britain’s workers. The Tories did it again and again. My Labour government will never leave workers behind. We’re investing in British steelmaking across our country – so we can make more of our own steel here at home.

Every single GB News show facilitates opposing views. The channel bends over backwards to have at least one strong left-leaning voice on every panel. The same cannot be said of Sky or the BBC.
