🚨 KELP DAO — $292M EXPLOIT | FULL BREAKDOWN 🧵 The largest DeFi hack of 2026 has arrived. Here is everything you need to know about the systemic impact and the contagion. 1. The Exploit: How it Happened The attacker targeted the bridge reserve backing $rsETH across 20+ chains. -The Method: The attacker spoofed a @LayerZero_Core cross-chain message via the lzReceive function on the EndpointV2 contract. -The Result: This tricked Kelp’s bridge into releasing 116,500 rsETH (~18% of the total circulating supply) to an address pre-funded via Tornado Cash. -Precision: This was a deliberate, highly planned operation. 2. The Timeline (UTC) - 17:35: Drain executed. - 18:21: @KelpDAO emergency multisig pauses all contracts (46 min response time). - 18:26 & 18:28: Two follow-up attempts for $100M each both reverted due to the pause. - 20:10: Kelp’s first public statement (nearly 3h after the initial drain). Note: Without the emergency pause, total losses could have reached $391M. The hack was first flagged publicly by @zachxbt. 3. The Contagion: Protocols Affected The attacker used the stolen $rsETH as collateral to borrow assets, creating a massive bad debt wave. 🔴 @aave V3 + V4: rsETH markets frozen; attacker created $236M+ in bad debt. $AAVE price dropped 10–13%. 🔴 @compoundfinance V3 + @eulerfinance : Faced the same collateral exploit. 🟡 @LidoFinance earnETH: Deposits paused due to rsETH exposure. 🟡 @ethena : Paused its own LayerZero OFT bridges as a precaution. 🟡 @Spark Lend & @0xfluid : Froze rsETH markets (confirmed zero actual exposure). 4. Market Impact - $AAVE: -10% to -13% - $ETH: -3.1% - $stETH/ $wstETH: -4% - $rsETH: Trading near $2,500; peg is under extreme pressure on L2s. 5. The Big Picture This is now the #1 DeFi exploit of 2026, overtaking the Drift hack ($285M). What this exposes: Cross-chain bridge risk is systemic. When a bridge holding reserves for 20+ networks gets drained, every wrapped version of that token becomes questionable simultaneously. DeFi composability remains a double-edged sword. Preços médios Gasolina 95 → 1,776 €/L Gasóleo → 1,817 €/L O preço na bomba não é apenas o combustível. Resulta de quatro componentes: cotação internacional, logística e distribuição, biocombustíveis e impostos. Gasolina 95 ( a titulo de exemplo) De forma aproximada: 52–54% impostos (ISP + IVA + taxa de carbono) 33% cotação internacional 10% distribuição e margens 7% biocombustíveis Ou seja, cerca de metade do preço são impostos. Que impostos pagamos? ISP – Imposto sobre Produtos Petrolíferos É um valor fixo por litro e inclui também a taxa de carbono e a contribuição rodoviária (mais impostos que ninguém sabe muito bem o que são). Gasolina: ~0,60–0,66 €/L Gasóleo: ~0,35–0,40 €/L IVA – 23% Aplica-se sobre todo o preço, incluindo o próprio ISP. Na prática, há imposto sobre imposto... 😂😂 Exemplo – Gasolina 95 Preço médio: 1,776 €/L Antes de impostos: 0,847 €/L Impostos totais: 0,929 €/L Ou seja, os impostos mais do que duplicam o preço base do combustível. Mas, afinal, por que car@lh@ mudam os preços todas as semanas? Na maioria dos casos, os preços são atualizados à segunda-feira, refletindo os custos da semana anterior, sobretudo, com base nestes factores: cotação internacional dos combustíveis preço do petróleo câmbio euro/dólar Preço final= cotação internacional+logística+ biocombustíveis + margens + ISP + IVA Dependendo da semana, os impostos representam entre 45% e 55% do preço final, "pagas e não bufas"...
